25.01.2022 This week's big seas have been AMAZING. I love the different colours, shapes and sheer power of the waves - it was exhilarating! To see Mother Nature in all her glory ticks all the boxes for this photographer :) These shots were taken at Cowries, Shellharbour Ocean Pool and Bass Point with my Canon 5d mk 1V and the Sigma 150-600mm sports lens. 25.01.2022 More of this weeks huge swell - from Shellharbour down to Kiama.... All taken with the Canon 5d mark IV and the Canon 24-105mm lens for the wide angle shots and the Sigma 150-600mm lens for the close ups of the waves. The camera and photographer are now having a well deserved rest :)

23.01.2022 Hey photographers - I just thought Id show you a few pics I took earlier in the week along the Kiama to Werri Lagoon section of the Kiama Coastal Walk. This walk wasnt walked by either of us!! I was on my ebike with my camera {Canon 5d Mark IV} in my backpack and Ray ran alongside me!! I wanted to show you the landscape shots I took and what I did.... All of them were taken at around ISO 400, Aperture 13 {the best aperture on the Canon 24-105mm lens to use for landscape shots and for obtaining complete sharpness throughout the image} Of course, the shutter speeds varied. I made sure my horizons were straight before pressing the shutter and that there was the right balance of sky, ocean and land.... Any questions, fire away!!

23.01.2022 Travel Stories - Mount Etna didnt disappoint - totally scary and considering what happened at the Volcano in New Zealand - I probably wouldnt do it again. Ljubljana is a beautiful city - we loved all of the old buildings and the surrounding lakes. Lake Bled was the highlight - absolutely fabulous place. 20.01.2022 Travel stories - The Hungarian Parliament building by night. This Gothic revival building is situated on the Pest side of the city and is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary. Constructed from 40 million bricks, half a million precious stones and 40kgs of gold, it opened in 1902. I couldnt get enough of it. It is one of the best buildings Ive ever had the pleasure to photograph. This shot was taken from the Szechenyi Chain Bridge.... 20.01.2022 Its a nice day with lots of cloud cover - this means nice soft light. I put a bunch of flowers I was recently given on the table on the back deck and got to work with the macro lens. All taken at F2.8, ISO 400 hand held. What are you photographing today?

19.01.2022 Warning : patience required! I recently photographed the red whiskered Bulbul and the Lewins Honeyeater from my back deck. I watched them every day for a week or so to familiarise myself with their sound and where they mostly landed etc.. Then when the light was right I used the Canon 5d mk iv and the Sigma 150-600mm at ISO 640, F6.3, 1/2000 sec..... 19.01.2022 I thought Id share a little bit of happiness today. These beautiful sunflowers were photographed just after we crossed the border {by mistake} into Slovakia. Photographed with my 24-105mm lens on the Canon 5d mk iv at ISO 320, F6.3, shutter speed at or around 1/400 sec.

19.01.2022 I saw these two baby kookaburras perched on a neighbours deck when driving home one day last week. I ran inside and grabbed the 100mm-400mm lens and the camera - I LOVE these shots - I was able to get fairly close and used and aperture of F5.6, ISO 400... The day finished with a fabulous sunset :)

18.01.2022 Carrington Falls last week after all the rain - such a beautiful sight.... I took my tripod and filters with me to slow down the shutter speeds, but couldnt get the tripod close enough to the edge of the fence, so I hand held the camera for all of these shots... ISO was 400, F13 {the sweet spot of the 24-105 lens} with various shutter speeds in AV mode. Exposure compensation used when required.

13.01.2022 Travel stories - Notto & Syracusa, Sicily, Italy. These two towns are rich in architecture and history. We stayed in a wonderful bnb in Notto and enjoyed the local vibe in the town square. Syracusa was a real highlight - The archeological amphitheater was amazing. It was easy to imagine it full of gladiators who conducted aquatic shows (and others) for officials.... We loved the town square on the city island of Ortygia. The ancient Catholic cathedral was beautiful and is named after the cities patron - St. Lucy. We thought so much of our beautiful friend here. 09.01.2022 A few months ago I was contacted by Victoria who wanted her 12 1/2 year old Golden Retriever Spencer photographed. "He hasnt got long with us" she said. She didnt know anything definite about his health, she just had a feeling. I travelled to her home and photographed Spencer who had very bad legs and found it hard to get around. ... We had a wonderful day together {you all know how much I love Goldies} and later on, as I was developing the pics, sadly, he developed cancer and is no longer with us. I am so grateful that I got to meet Spencer and photograph him that day. He had a wonderful life with his devoted owner. Everything happens for a reason and I feel so sad he is gone and of course, my thoughts are with Victoria. RIP Spencer. p.s. the moral of the story? Dont put off what you want to get done. I was contacted a few days back by a photo purchasing company in England who wanted to purchase one of my favourite shots from Venice. It was exhibited in my Bella Italia exhibition a few years back and now is going to be printed 3 metres long to go on the wall of an Italian restaurant in Leeds, England. Like I said, ...
