22.01.2022 A couple more photos from last weekend. I will get off of my butt and finish the Armidale in the next few weeks. Been finishing off a few 1m yachts that have been sitting in the corner of my workshop for the past few years.... - Darcy

21.01.2022 So I had this great idea (at the time), to use an old Freemantle Hull (1/24), to build a similar scale Flyvefisken Class. Must of had a moment (and not considered) the difference of the hulls at the same scale. Freemantle = 41.9m... Flyvefisken = 54m This now complicated things , because when I measured the hull up, it puts me somewhere between 1/32 & 1/40 . Todays effort main deck gun, to big . Reprinting, 10mm smaller . - Darcy

21.01.2022 Now I wonder what I could make with this?

21.01.2022 Wohoo! This morning my patent got approved for my next project! An invention that might completely change the sailing game. Stay tuned to find out what it is. :)

20.01.2022 Hull Section 02 nearing completion- Titanic

20.01.2022 Today Im getting back into my modelling, but updating the Armidale model, and getting the Smit, LPA, and Titanic ready as full kits.

19.01.2022 Ive just finished updating the Armidale hull by dramatically increasing the polygons along its curve. This will get rid of those pesky triangles in the original design. Ive also modeled the interior to the bridge! All updates have been uploaded to CG trader for you to download and print yourself. Once my printers are up and running, the kits will be available to buy.

16.01.2022 Lets see what YouTube has to say about this... stand by for BitChute migration if it is a lame excuse.

16.01.2022 The 1/72nd Titanic handles in such a way that it revealed something bone chilling to me while controlling it... To set the scene, I launched it around a tidal sand bar, so it was a series of sandy canals. Now, the model is extremely accurate when it comes to its dimensions. Its shape, its propellers, and its rudder, all perfectly relative to its massive size. But most of all, a dimension most large scale model builders seldom burden themselves with... Its weight! I maneu...vered her to a straight, and got her to maximum speed. I had to get into a light jog along the shore to keep up with her. Without meaning to, I was suddenly opposed with a hauntingly familiar situation. The end of the canal was closing quicker than I expected, and turned rather sharply to the left. So, I began to turn the tiny little rudder, and she slowly began to come about. At this stage I still had full thrust ahead, but she wasnt turning hard enough! About a quater into the failing turn, I decided that I was going too quick... Too late! It was now that I killed all thrust to try and slow her down... Thats when it all fell apart, and my chilling revelation occurred. As soon as I killed the thrust halfway into the turn, the ship suddenly stopped turning and coasted dead ahead, despite the rudder still being hard over... Luckily, while all this was happening, I was waiding out to the corner to catch her, and saved the day like godzilla turned good... But that feeling I got when she suddenly stopped turning would probably have been what Murdoch felt when he realized he fucked up! I learned a very valuable lesson with my oversized model, and the real Titanic. Once I realized this simple quirk, I was able to control her a lot better. But every time I have to remind myself of this, I am also reminded that this is the same reason the real one is currently on the bottom of the Atlantic... The rudder only works under thrust!!
