It is important t...hat when dry eye occurs in someone with glaucoma, that all factors contributing to the development of dry eye are addressed as this may be enough to improve symptoms without needing to change glaucoma treatment. Treating dry eye involves ensuring adequate tear volume, maximising the health and function of the tears, optimising tear flow, and where possible removing or at least minimising any factors that may be worsening the tendency to dry eye. If symptoms of dry eye continue to cause problems despite addressing the other causes of dry eye, then changes to glaucoma treatment may be necessary. Holes and tears in the retina can occur because of changes that happen as you age, or because the retina has been pulled and torn. 09.01.2022 We have had quite a few patients lately suffering with Dry Eyes, so I thought I would repost this... Suffering from Dry Eyes? Signs and symptoms, which usually affect both eyes, may include: A stinging, burning or scratchy sensation in your eyes... Stringy mucus in or around your eyes Sensitivity to light Eye redness A sensation of having something in your eyes Difficulty wearing contact lenses Difficulty with nighttime driving Watery eyes, which is the body's response to the irritation of dry eyes Blurred vision or eye fatigue Remember You won’t cure dry eye, you’ll manage it So here are a few tips to help you out. The more symptoms you have use more drops Drops, routine and regular Cool compress across when itchy & irritated Warm, moist face washer over the eyes, cover this with a wheat bag: hot but care not to burn yourself. 4 minutes is therapeutic.
