25.01.2022 I have been complained about to council . I live in a rural area . Ranger visited and he’s happy . Feel very sad that people would think the dogs are neglected or mistreated . A real kick in the guts when I have been trying to make friends and I even offered help to people . We often go without so the animal are so well cared for . I’m too soft as these things bother me

Hopefully someone who has a dog/cat suffering from skin conditions or UTIs etc will see this post and do further research to stop feeding rice. Dogs are facultative carnivores and cats are obligate carnivores. Please research this and their anatomy and dentition if you think otherwise. We cannot monitor this post as we are in dietary consultations for the day trying to rectify issues caused by inappropriate diets. If you would like further info please PM or email us. All veggies are ultimately classed as starches for dogs as they are broken down via the same pathway and release sugars into the body resulting in increasing inflammation. Every so often we have shared this info and will continue to do so in order for more parents to become aware of the dangers of adding rice to their pet's food. It is a very common addition as most parents resort to cooked chicken and rice as a bland diet to heal the gut or even to add rice to stretch the food out and keep their pets full. Here is the correct info: 1. Rice has no nutritional value for carnivores [dogs and cats]. 2. It is so hard for them to digest it and takes so much of metabolic energy to do so. 3. It BULKS up stools. Yes..those thick, large, stinky stools - you can thank rice. 4. It causes pets to poop more - Seriously, do you really have time to pick up more poop? 5. It adds to the carbohydrate content of the meal/diet, causing the urinary tract to become basic. A basic urinary tract will result in urinary issues such as bladder stones, kidney stones, UTIs, and kidney disease. 5. Rice is very high GI so this makes your pet more hungry rather than keeping them full. 6. Feeding rice promotes inflammation in the body which can lead to itchy skin, allergies, hotspots, etc. If you are adding rice or know of anyone doing so, please share this post with them so pet parents can stop feeding rice. All the effort to cook the rice, electricity used, time to prep and all you get in return is extra poop that stinks to pick up, vet bills from treating itchy skin or inflammation, hungry pets that want more food. It really is not worth it! Please spread the word!
