12.01.2022 Number 2: Your heart is working harder just by being immersed in water. Deep water running, fast walking and swimming can all lead to a training intensity for ...cardiovascular exercise and can lead to improvements in aerobic capacity (Becker 2009). Hydrostatic pressure also leads to compression (Hall 1990) which may be useful for people with knee effusion or who have issues with swelling. Do you want more info? Come to our Plunge into Spring event to get up to date research information about aquatic exercise for strengthening, cardiovascular fitness and general well being, with some practical tips on how to start. https://www.aquaticphysioexercise.com.au/ https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/plunge-into-spring-aquatic- Contact email: [email protected] Contact phone: 0402455309 Photo by Robina Weermeijer on Unsplash

08.01.2022 Hi all our wonderful Austswim Qld BC Swim teachers - I found this poem after many years - it was given to me by a student. it was originally written for a dance teacher - but it so epitomisesour industry. It is also great for that touchy, feely moment. - congratulations to you all for the work you do in keeping our Queensland swimmers safe. Poem for Teachers There are little eyes upon you, And they are watching night and day:... There are little ears that quickly take in every work you say: There are little hands eager to do anything you do And little ones dreaming, of the day they’ll be like you. You’re the little one’s idol: You’re the wisest of the wise, In their little mind about you, No suspicions ever rise; They believe in you devoutly, hold that all you can and do, They will say and do, in your way, when they’re grown up like you. There’s a wide-eyed little one, who believes you’re always right, And their ears are always open, and they watch day and night; You’re setting an example everyday in all you do, For the little one who’s waiting, to grow up to be like you.
