24.01.2022 KANO January School Holiday Clinic 2021 2021 marks a new beginning and KANO marks a fresh approach to children's love and appreciation of the ball. It's a perfect time for kids to come together to enjoy the beautiful game and start to ask themselves what they would love to be POSSIBLE with their football in 2021! Parents can feel comfortable and relieved dropping their kids off for 9 hours of complete football immersion over 3 days with very experienced coaches so excited to ...share their knowledge and expertise in a fun, supportive and inclusive way. If your child loves KANO or football we believe there is no better way to "kick" off the new year!! The camps are for kids aged 5 - 12 at all levels of ability: U6/U7 - Coaches are focused to provide this age group with hours of fun and skills development in a safe and supportive environment so parents can feel at ease leaving their young children to explore this often new but ultimately very exciting introduction to football. U8/U9 - With many of these children already having a few seasons of football under their belt, the focus is on maximum engagement with the game through furthering and enhancing their skills development, high levels of activity, and plentiful game time. U10/11/12 - Very experienced coaches take these kids to a new level of football by challenging them technically, maximising their love and enjoyment for the game, and fostering a growth mindset to encourage better decision making and personal development. The details of the Hornsby clinic are as follows: 18 - 20 January, 2021 3 Days, 9am - 12pm each day Rofe Park, Hornsby Cost: $120 Sibling Discount: $10 off per additional sibling if registered by Monday 14 December. (Discount code: Sibling2021) All camps are fully COVID compliant with strict guidelines adhered to ensure the safety and welfare of all children. With the success of our last school holiday program, spaces are filling up quickly. We ask interested parents to register promptly. Registrations link: https://kano-football.com.au/holidaycamps

21.01.2022 PREMIERS!!! What a season for the Berowra Ov35 div6 team , after winning a split premiership last season the lads were ready for a shot at the title again this season , we started the year with five straight wins and were looking to go undefeated for as long as possible , however the wheels fell off for us due to injuries and players being unavailable, with a tough and extremely close competition looming we started to question ourselves ,losing and drawing over the next fe...w weeks and slowly dropping down the ladder . It appeared to us that the competition was closer than we anticipated. With three games left in the season we needed to win at least one of the last three games however we lost one and drew one , needing another team to draw against the ladder leaders the unthinkable happened and results went our way . Last game of the year we needed to win to go ahead of leaders Prouille by an amazing one point ,our team saved their best game until last winning 3-1 against Prouille, our team showed determination this season wanting nothing more than to win the premiership and it certainly showed on the field , with some comebacks and wins that will be hard to repeat , a majority of our team have played together for a while now , we are a bunch of mates who love the game and have great team spirit showing plenty of heart during a difficult season the lads will remember this one for some time , special mention to our Keeper Ash Duncan who has been our keeper for many many years and is retiring this year well played champion. 13.01.2022 12A's take down the undefeated Super League leaders This was the match of the season. The boys have had a tough season and this was the opportunity to show the competition what Berowra has got with a win over the undefeated and supremely confident Chatswood Rangers. The first half was a tough slog with both teams playing strongly in an arm wrestle for the ages. Chatswood opened the scoring catching the boys flat footed with some good run and pace to break our lines. For C...Continue reading

13.01.2022 Berowra MAA3s waited this week with bated breath to see if the rain would ruin their Saturday. Fortunately, the game went ahead on the picturesque high ground of Golden Jubilee as Reserve Grade suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat and First Grade enjoyed a wide 4-0 victory. The Ressies side put forward a strong defensive effort, with notable performances by Luke Ebbs and Faisal Amiri not enough to keep the sheets clean. With Berowra and Barker in 3rd and 4th position respectively on... the table, it was always destined to be a close encounter. Berowra largely dominated play in a game where both sides were profligate with their chances, with top scorer Nick Tucker showing that he just doesnt want it enough. Phil Meli made a welcome return, with his pace causing issues for the opposition defence. Unfortunately, it was just one of those days where nothing went right, including for coach Trevor Huxley who should get a feature in sayings said wrong for his full-time team talk mention of throwing a kitchen and a sink at the opposition. Trev will be working on malapropisms at training this week. The coaching team is also hopeful that veteran player Pete Linton wont get lost on the way to the next game. There were no such issues for Firsts as they dismantled Barker by 4 goals to nil. The opposition had barely started running when a sweeping move was finished by Golden Boot elect Nic Todarello. This early goal laid the foundation for a comfortable game, as Berowra looked threatening with every touch of the ball. The Barker left back is still having nightmares about Nick McMillan, whose runs from deep proved a menace throughout the game. The second half ended 3-0 with Kieran Chalmers and Chris Stephen both getting on the scoresheet with near identical goals off of a spilled save by the keeper. With the boys flying in the first half, the half time team talk was positive and urged the boys to carry on and score more goals. Unfortunately, what followed was a comfortable, but frustrating second half with a lack of goals. Luckily the second half deadlock was broken as man of the match Kurt Walker played a delightful lofted through ball to Tommy Fitzsimons, who lifted the ball over the onrushing keeper with a delightful half-volleyed chip. It was Tommys first goal of the season and boy did he let everyone know post-game. The team song and Chers Believe are rumoured to still be echoing around the valleys of Wahroonga after this deserved victory. Div 3 take on the Auld Enemy next week, facing up to long-time rivals North Turramurra on the fake turf carpet of NTRA.

08.01.2022 Mens Premier League continue their strong start to the season with another away win Berowra made another trip down the north shore hoping to secure their first 12 point weekend of the year against a highly fancied Chatswood outfit. Reserve grade took an early lead courtesy of some wizardry on the wing from Maxy Francis. Francis received the ball with back to goal in his own half, turned the Chatswood defence and put in an early cross that was finished by Randy Machados he...ad/shoulder/chest. The young Cobras showed the discipline and game management that has been lacking for the last 3 weeks to close the match out. Some top class saves from Shark Parry kept the opposition at bay as Berowra kept their first clean sheet since round 1 to finish the match 1-0. First grade looked to capitalise on last weeks momentum and continue their push up the ladder. Berowra started well and threatened the Chatswood goal but were unable to capitalise as both sides went to the halftime break scoreless. The deadlock was finally broken not long into the second half courtesy of a rocket off Jake Harriss right boot. Minutes later the lead was doubled as Swayze landed a cross on 3rd Best Fiedlers head and the momentum was firmly with the Cobras. Chatswood got one back while resident hothead 3BF was in the naughty corner for 10 minutes but the men in maroon showed their mettle to close the game out 2-1 and take home all 12 club championship points. Coach Harris used the press conference to make an unfortunate joke about lentils that isnt fit for publishing. You can also follow the fortunes of the side on our official Instagram page TheBerowraCobras.

01.01.2022 Berowra G16A put an under strength West Pymble G16B to the sword with a 12 nil whitewash at Aluba Sports Ground in a game that was played hard but in very good spirit. The scoreline would certainly have been more lopsided if not for a wonderful sporting gesture from the Berowra coach and team who agreed to play the second half with 9 aside.
