24.01.2022 Kettle bell provides a great overall body workout, if your looking for a challenge, come do kettle bell with us.

21.01.2022 Great first week back for term 1, 2014. Just finished this mornings Pilates class. Everyone worked hard, still able to throw in a few laughs, as usual. Jason is new to Pilates, finding it quite challenging, but realising the benefits. Jason, Pete said he will be there next week, guaranteed. Pilates is great for, increasing core stability, provides total body conditioning and corrects muscle imbalances.

20.01.2022 Getting a team together to run the Blackmore's half marathon in September. Feeling very excited and pumped. Our first training run together is on the 12th April. Aiming hopefully for everyone to be running 8 to 10ks by then. So the focus for now being, to work on your distance. Plan your runs into your schedule, and if you start to talk yourself out of running, stop those thoughts, quickly get those runners on and just get out the door! Before you know it the run is over, and you'll feel great!

18.01.2022 Heading into the cooler months can lead to a drop in our motivation, to continue exercising. It is important to focus on other reasons to exercise, rather than just for weight loss, and looking good for the summer months. Higher energy levels, a better nights sleep, and just generally feeling good physically and mentally. Exercise should be a part of our life for life. As we age, modifications to how we exercise need to be made, but it should remain a constant thing, and not something we continue to phase in and out of our lives. Exercise should be something we constantly make a priority, not the one thing we stop, as soon as our lives become too busy.

15.01.2022 Karen and Margaret were able to smile for this photo after a gruelling Saturday boxing session. To those who cancelled 8am Saturday, will make up for it this coming Saturday.

15.01.2022 Reached a stage in your training where you have become disinterested and tired. Try a personal training session to spark you up again. You will be amazed at what you are capable of with the guidance of a personal trainer.

14.01.2022 Recently Narelle and myself attended the essential and advanced suspension training course. We are now implementing the bands into out group classes, with clients loving the variety they bring. Great for the core and improving the way you move. Here is a shot of one of our clients using them. Margaret, who is photographed, is in her 60's and attends 5 classes per week. Margret is a great inspiration in not letting her age hold her back. She has a go at everything, and may I add, has a good 15 pushups per set in her, on her toes!

11.01.2022 Found this awesome link regarding yoga poses for runners, enjoy! http://www.fitnessmagazine.com//y/poses/yoga-for-runners/

02.01.2022 Something to think about "Health is not just the absence of disease. It's an inner joyfulness that should be ours all the time. A state of well-being" Try out this sweet winter recipe. Baked winter fruit salad: 2 Large green apples, peeled and thinly sliced 1/2 cup raisins... 2 Large pears, peeled and thinly sliced 1/2 cup almonds, blanched &sliced 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tbsp orange peel, shredded 2 tbsp honey 1 tin crushed pineapple, drained, keep juice Mix together pineapple, honey, raisins, cinnamon and peel. Place 1/3 of apples and pears overlapping in a deep 23cm (9 inch) pie dish. Top with of the mixture. Place another 1/3 layer of apple and pear slices. Finish with the apple and pear layer. Pour remaining juice over the fruit, cover dish and bake for 45 minutes, at a moderate temperature. Sprinkle extra cinnamon on top, scatter almond slices, serve warm with your choice of yogurt, frozen yogurt, or ice cream.
