11.01.2022 As of 1st June, the NSW State Government has ruled that churches may regather for worship services with a number of conditions. I have spoken to so many of you who have missed gathering together, attending the markets and all the other activities which go on in and around the church building. However, we will be continuing with current worship practices and having our site closed for some time yet. This continuation of current practice is for a few reasons pertaining to pas...toral and practical needs. There is a lot of consideration as to how many people can gather and the space required based on square metres, as well as how we reduce the risk of people spreading and contracting COVID19 in required cleaning practices, as well as in the things we take for granted like singing together or having morning tea and serving scones. Last week the church received updates from the Australian Government and the NSW/ACT Synod (our state based council of the Uniting Church) on what is required of Uniting Churches to keep us all safe. Our first responsibility is to administer care for one another, by keeping people safe, and is firm in the foundation of scripture and the love of God. Over the next weeks, the Berowra Uniting Church Council will be working diligently to ensure that Berowra UCA will gather together for worship, markets, Taize, Messy Church, Playgroup, small groups and provide for those who hire our hall, in a way which caters to the most vulnerable, for the good of us all. All these activities which happen onsite at Berowra UCA will need to be treated separately on a case by case assessment, with their return being staged as we are advised. As such I can not provide a date or time frame for the return to site for any of these activities at this time. If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact me at: [email protected] Stay safe and take care of one another, Rev. Amanda Hay

03.01.2022 An Important Messy Church Announcement Due to the current, continually updating, information on the COVID-19 pandemic we will not be meeting for Messy Church this Sunday (22nd March) at Berowra Uniting Church. This decision has been made with great care to ensure that everyone who attends Messy Church stays safe and healthy. ... While we will not be holding Messy Church together, we encourage you to create a space in your busy (and perhaps messy?) lives to be church by taking some time to pray, to make something delicious to eat or perhaps text or call a friend or family member to see how they are. During this time, let us take up practices which help us remember that even though we might not be meeting at church doesnt stop us from being church. Stay messy, friends! If you would like to reach out to someone during this time, please contact Rev. Amanda Hay @ [email protected] or on (02) 9456 6041
