05.01.2022 Match Report Round 9 @ Home Berri 4/214 def. Waikerie Ramco 97... The Real Reds nearly all rocked up in the correct kit on Saturday at midday as we enjoyed watching the tight finish in the Berri Cricket Club Juniors U15 match. Congratulations on a good win Young Demons! The A Grade boys relished the opportunity to bat first and get the runs on the board. And that we did! With Young Herbert and Aging Fielke setting us up with an opening stand of 55 before Josh fell for 25. Enter the Little Man. Rosenzweig and Herbertnernie put together a quick 40 runs for the second wicket. Riley continued to score freely with a couple of monster sixes on his way to 48. Rosey batted with intensity and freedom before bringing up his with a monster six into the grandstand. Unfortunately, he couldn’t go on to a huge score - chopping on next ball. Wayne Scadden was a good support act through regular rotation of the strike finishing on 28* as we finished our innings at 4/214. The boys started a bit flat in the field as the Waikerie openers batted with determination. Evan Gregoric (1/4) eventually got the breakthrough in his first game for the BCC this season. Waikerie got through to drinks at 2/54. After a pull ya finger out directive in the sheds, the boys delivered in the second half of the innings. Rob Bobby Dazzler Taylor dazzled the batsmen and secured his 50th wicket for the club. The elder Scadden bowled brilliantly and followed his own advice from the drinks break (take more wickets) by taking 4/8 off 5. Oakley pushed through his overs and finished with 2/18 off his allotted 8. The higher energies in the field after drinks was a huge driver of our success and needs to be from ball 1. Spirit of Cricket Award: Bobby Dazzler We see ourselves a game and a half clear at the top of the ladder with a game to go before the Christmas break. See you all next week as we take on Loxton at Home. Head to the Fixtures tab at www.berricricketclub.com for the full scorecard.

01.01.2022 Match Report Round @ Home Berri 9/107 def. Loxton 86... On Saturday the real reds hosted Loxton for the final game before Christmas. With a few outs of Coach Cotter and Captain Rosey, the position of alpha dog was up for grabs. Batting first, partnerships were hard to come by. A solid batting performance from Tom Jolly (17) was had, until he had his middle peg taken out a few overs later. Willis chipped in (14) and Hurricane Wayno steadied the ship with an innings high of 21. Some late hitting from Chris Smith (19) took us to a below par but competitive 9/107. While the FBC had taken a hit, the consistency of spells from all bowlers put the pressure right on the Loxton batting lineup, taking wickets at all the key moments. Huge shout out to the Fridge! Like a man possessed while hiding at fine leg, he took all the momentum away from Loxton with a direct hit runout of the in form Hoffmann. From there the bowlers did the job with stand out performances from R. Kubsch (4/12) and C. Smith (2/20). Berri taking the game by 21 runs. Spirit of Cricket Award: Chris Smith We now take some time out with family and friends over the Christmas and New Year break. To all BCC Life Members, Past Players, senior and junior players, supporters and friends: have a safe and joyous season. Take care on the roads and spread the Christmas cheer. Head to the Fixtures tab at www.berricricketclub.com for the full scorecard.
