25.01.2022 First day back after isolation . So glad to be back and on the job. Lots of work to catch up on but most of all it’s great to be together again. We have our COViDSAFE plan and plenty of hand sanitiser

24.01.2022 Chris is working on this amazing slab of timber to make a rustic TV unit. Look closely at the rough edges which give it great character. When he puts oil on the top, the beautiful grain of the wood will shine through. Great work, Chris

23.01.2022 Another children’s mud kitchen just looking for a backyard to call home and lots of children to play with. Guaranteed to keep them busy for hours! Great job everyone

23.01.2022 It’s always busy in the Shed, starting new projects and finishing others. Here are some things we are working on at the moment.

23.01.2022 Grahame is always hard at work on the next project in the shed and he always does it with a smile!

22.01.2022 A sad day today for BMS as we hear of the death of Warwick Leal, one of the co-founders of the Shed in 2005 with Tom Darby. Vale Warwick.

22.01.2022 We have now been registered with NSW Health as a COVID Safe business. In addition, we now have a QR code to scan upon entry, which simplifies the sign in process for people with a smart phone. QR Codes are fast becoming the preferred way for business to ask customers to check-in. The NSW Government has created a free QR code solution that connects to the Service NSW app, so unlike other contactless checking products, this solution: > Validates customer data as it is scanne...d and securely sends it to Service NSW for storage; > Means NSW Health can access customer details faster which makes it easier for contact tracing. If you have the Service NSW app on your phone, remember to scan the QR code when you visit the Shed.

21.01.2022 All quiet at the moment but on Tuesday and Thursday it will be a hive of activity with orders being completed and a big cleanup, to get organised for the Christmas break.

20.01.2022 Drum roll please! Presenting this amazing Children’s Mud Kitchen Great attention to detail, built to withstand the most enthusiastic children/grandchildren Great present for Christmas. Available at the Annual Men’s Shed Sale on Saturday 7th November.

19.01.2022 Here are some more great items that you’ll find this Saturday from 8am, at the Huge Berry Men’s Shed Sale. There will be lots of recycled furniture, garden art, books and lots more....In order to space things out, we will need to close the carpark, so find your best parking in North Street.

18.01.2022 At the recent Annual General Meeting, BMS inducted two new Life Members, John Hudson and Peter Johnston. Tom Darby, one of the pioneers of the Shed, and its only Life Member till now, recounted for the meeting some memories of the early days and John and Peter's parts in that. He then presented the new Life Members with their Certificates of Life Membership. Also during the meeting, retiring Shed President, Phil Reid, presented his President's Award to Terry Smith, in recognition of his outstanding contribution during the year.

18.01.2022 Beautiful day to work outside today! Peter is showing off a new project by our clever metal worker, Terry. Just waiting to be painted. It would look great in any garden! Well done, Terry.

18.01.2022 Our Berry Men’s Shed sale was a huge success last Saturday. Many thanks to all the members for the hard work with preparation, furniture moving, setting up the stalls and stocking them with the wonderful items that have been made or re-purposed during the year. People were at the doors from 7.30 and there was a steady flow all morning. All the breadboards and corrugated magpies sold out and orders were taken for many more items. Many thanks to our community for their support and well done everyone involved.

17.01.2022 Just finishing off all these wonderful obelisks. There’s a lot of work in each one and half are already sold. Great teamwork everyone. They look amazing!

16.01.2022 All finished and ready to go. These possum boxes were made into kits with the wood, nails, screws and paint in the Shed, then delivered to Shed members at home during the lockdown. The members assembled them and now they are all done and ready to go. Great job everyone!

13.01.2022 These Pencil Blocks are great gift ideas for young or old. Children or grandchildren could use them to store some favourite pencils or if you enjoy mindfulness colouring, the larger block could store your most used colours. Our members are always coming up with great ideas!

13.01.2022 We welcomed special visitors to the shed last Tuesday. Charlotte Wood and Dhruvi Vihol accompanied by a staff member, are from Shoalhaven High School. They are the two recipients of the Berry Men’s Shed Scholarship Scheme. This is the 7th year of the scheme which is a joint initiative with Berry Uniting Church. The scholarships have a value of $500 and are used to assist and encourage the students in their ongoing studies. Charlotte and Dhruvi were very excited and grateful to receive their awards and enjoyed meeting shed members and touring the shed. The photo shows Shed President Phil Reid, Dhruvl and Charlotte and Shed Publicity Officer Richard Wiseman.

10.01.2022 President Phil had orders from a VERY important person in his household for 2 bookshelves to be built in his workshop at home during the time of isolation. He was able to order the wood and paint online and Wendy did the collecting. He’s spending lots of time in his workshop so who knows what his next project will be!!

10.01.2022 Shed member, Terry, is very talented at metal work as well as wood work. He came up with a great idea in Isolation! Meet Rain Man and his rain gauge. Now all that is needed is to make Rain Man a member of the Shed.

08.01.2022 Busy day today getting ready for the Huge Men’s Shed Sale this Saturday from 8am. Beautiful restored tables, chairs, bookshelves and cupboards. 07.01.2022 All hands on deck, getting ready for the Berry Mens Shed Sale in November. The shed members are working on some of the popular items like the magpies and reindeer. Lots more jobs in the pipeline

07.01.2022 Allan is still hard at work making Spurtles or Spoodles. Did you know that a Spurtle is a 15th Century Scottish wooden kitchen tool used for stirring porridge, soups, and stews? Allan uses beautiful wood to craft his Spurtles and the finished product is amazing!

07.01.2022 Shed member Terry is well know for his creative metal work. From corrugated magpies to fire boxes and now these amazing rusted bulrushes for your garden. Come along to the Men’s Shed Sale tomorrow morning and see these things and so much more... Rotary will be there with a BBQ breakfast, lots of 2nd hand books, homemade jam, kitchen items, tools. Everyone welcome in a COVID safe environment. Car Park closed so Best parking in North Street.

07.01.2022 These components have been cut from high quality timber and painted and now Richard is measuring to make sure everything is in order. The next step involves a dedicated team that will assemble all the bits into beautiful Obelisks to place in a garden for climbing plants. Great teamwork everyone! You can order or buy these Obelisks from the shed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

07.01.2022 What a brilliant idea! To keep our members working and to help wildlife recovering from loss of habitat during the bushfires, Chris, Allan and Brett are making 2 different kits (making sure they are always socially distanced). The kits are to make possum boxes and rosella boxes and each kit includes instructions to make the boxes, pre cut timber, screws, small pot with enough paint for the box. The kits are then delivered to the shed members at their homes to complete. Great idea guys

05.01.2022 These beautiful wood baskets made of metal are just right to hold the wood for that cosy winter fire you are planning. Handmade by shed member Terry. Not many left, selling for $50 each.

05.01.2022 Allan has been working on these amazing cheese knives. Take a look at the beautiful wood turning in the handles. Such fine work.

02.01.2022 This little person knows exactly how to use a mud kitchen. There is very serious water play happening here . The kitchen is built to be attached to a hose for easy turning on and off of the water. The Mens Shed is taking orders and the cost is $175.

02.01.2022 We would like to thank the Berry Community for their support throughout this year with all it’s twists and turns and wish everyone a very Happy and Joyful Christmas and a Healthy 2021.

01.01.2022 If you need last minute Christmas presents for that difficult to buy for person. Look at these beautiful things !! Pop in today or Thursday 9-4pm before we close for the Christmas break.
