15.01.2022 While we all hope for Christmas to be a time of joy and connection, for many it can be a time of loneliness and despair. This year more than ever, you may know someone who is spending Christmas alone. If we all reach out to just one person, what a difference we can make! Who will you call for Christmas?? And if you are struggling this Christmas period, know that you're not alone. Find connection through nature, activities you love, or maybe even old friends. And if you need ...support, just ask. - Lifeline 13 11 14 - Kids Helpline 1800 55 1800 - Mental Health Line 1800 011 511 - Suicide Callback Service 1300 659 467 See more

13.01.2022 Today is R U OK? DAY. You all know what to do, right? But what about the finer details? Like where should you ask, and what should you say after you ask? Asking R U OK? is such an important step for us all to take, but it's common to feel overwhelmed by the responses you might get. It's also fair to feel worried about how hard you should push if your gut is telling you something is up. Trust your gut. It’s a wonderful tool that helps let you know if something isn’t quite r...ight. R U OK? DAY has four guidance steps: 1. Ask R U OK? 2. Listen with an open mind 3. Encourage action 4. Check in They also have amazing free resources on their website, including conversation tips and a conversation guide. https://www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask If you are worried someone is suicidal call Lifeline, or if you believe their life is at risk, call 000.

06.01.2022 Van Gogh sold only one painting while he was alive. However, he always continued to paint. Creating over 2000 pieces of art over just 10 years. He always felt people would come to love his artwork. It only takes one very small action to continue, in his case, just a brush stroke.

06.01.2022 Meet Lee Berry, he is feeling stressed. When we're little (and when we're BIG) we can feel stressed. Sometimes we associate feeling stressed with only BIG people, but our little ones can feel stressed too. Stress might show up in loss of appetite or gain of appetite, nail biting, bed wetting, difficulty sleeping or nightmares, not wanting to spend time with friends or family, and not wanting to go to school. Some ways we can support our little ones when they're feeling stressed include giving them something to control in their life (even if it's choosing the books you read at night time), having dinner together and speaking about your day, keeping daily routines consistent, and doing exercise together - it's good for them and it's good for you too! You can use Lee to speak about stress with your little one. Thanks, Lee Berry!
