07.01.2022 We have a new addition to our beautiful outdoor environment. Its our new mud kitchen! We have decided to construct this corner considering the many fold advantages of children playing in the mud which child care experts says have following benefits: * Recent studies have suggested that playing in the mud helps children to develop a strong immune system. * Playing in the mud kitchen helps the children in their physical well-being as playing and digging in the mud helps them t...o develop their gross motor skills. * Mud kitchen gives the children the opportunity to explore, create and experiment in an open ended way. * it gives children the opportunity to explore the mathematics concepts full, half, empty and exploring capacity. * Mud kitchen gives endless opportunities to role play and active exploration. * Mud kitchen helps children in their language development as they use their imagination to role play and share their ideas with their peers. They also use descriptive words which helps them to expand their vocabulary. * Messy play in the mud kitchen provide them with the sensory experiences they need. * Children hold little tools in their imaginary play which help them in their fine motor development and leads to better hand eye coordination. 07.01.2022 We have had some wonderful events to celebrate recently such as reconciliation week where the children engaged in variety of activities that shared and celebrated Aboriginal culture, we participated in world environment day where the children learned about how we can take care of our environment through recycling, saving water and power. The children created some wonderful artwork using recycled materials. The children have had hands on learning by engaging each day in our da...ily weather board. They observe the weather and place the weather cards on the board, this has extended into discussions and learning about seasons and days of the week which we have added onto our board. Our children have had many opportunities to explore our centres natural environment. The children were able to focus on and explore their imagination and investigative skills by working together to build various imaginary play areas, this exploration helps the children further their mathematical concepts and being able to cooperate with others in play episodes and group experiences.
