25.01.2022 Update on tennis activities at Berwick Following the state governments announcement on Monday, Tennis Victoria has provided advice that some tennis activities can restart. Before we can announce what these activities are and when we can restart, we are required to await for approval and guidelines from the City of Casey, which we are expecting imminently. In preparation, the nets have been put back up today BUT this does not mean that tennis can restart and the courts will r...emain closed until we have been given the all clear and have ticked off any safety requirements that Tennis Victoria and City of Casey require. All members will be advised of the recommencement details as soon as possible. Following the nets being put back up today, a group of people have jumped the fence and were playing on the courts, which is unacceptable. We request that all members wait until we've given the go ahead for play to resume before heading up to the club, and if you're in the area and see anyone on the courts, please advise a committee member.

14.01.2022 Farewell Lois It was with sadness that we farewelled Lois Plowman from our coaching team last month following her exciting appointment to one of the brand new Coaching Leader roles at Tennis Victoria. Lois passed on the following message of thanks to the club and we thought it was worth sharing:... I would like to take this opportunity to thank the committee and all members of the Berwick Tennis Club for their wonderful support over my 37 year plus association in my role as club coach. I was first appointed around 1981 and I have been very fortunate to have maintained a wonderful relationship with all members over many years. Being awarded a life membership of the club is something I am extremely proud of, as I know they are not awarded lightly. When I look at the caliber of all the life members and their contribution to the club it is indeed a privilege to be amongst so many wonderful people who have made the Berwick Tennis Club the success it is today. I am loving my new role as Coaching Leader at Tennis Victoria and hope to make a difference in coaches lives now instead of my students. I wish the club all the best for the future and I hope to enjoy a social hit at the club every now and then so I can keep in touch with all the wonderful friends I have made over the years. Sincere thanks Lois Plowman

08.01.2022 Update on tennis activities at Berwick Following the Victorian Government announcements this morning, 11 May, Tennis Victoria is currently in communication with Government about what this means for tennis. Tennis Victoria are proposing to publish new recommendations on their website tomorrow, 12 May 2020. ... If Tennis Victoria recommend that tennis activities can be restarted in some form, the Berwick Tennis Club will also be required to wait for the City of Casey to review the recommendations and advise us of next steps, including what protocols will need to be put in place at the club to ensure the safety of all players. Our facilities will not be able to be reopened for any tennis activities until we have received communications from council that it is ok to do so. We are all very much looking forward to getting back to playing tennis and hopefully we will be able to in the near future.
