25.01.2022 **EDIT: If you would like the recording, send me a DM with your email address & I’ll add you to our Simplifiers mailing list & send you the recording*** Today is the day for my Making back to school a breeze masterclass! We’ll be talking about how we can all CHOOSE to use the 1,440 minutes we all have in a day to make sending the kids back to school a breeze. I’ll be talking about: * Dropping the ball (maybe in a different context than what you think using Tiffany Dufu’s... definition! ) * My declutter philosophy of stop, focus notice * What everyday clutter and accumulated clutter is * How to set yourself and your week up for success * What our morning and afternoon routines look like * How we manage uniforms, drink bottles & lunchboxes * An example of a family meeting in our home I’ve peppered Be Simply Free worksheets throughout the presentation and I’ll be sending copies of the worksheets and the recording to everyone that registers. You need to register via https://events.humanitix.com/making-back-to-school-a-breeze to get the Zoom log in details. Don’t forget if can’t to join us live, still register and I’ll send you the recording! What do you want to hear about the most?

23.01.2022 Me time - Tonight in #444DeclutterCourse we are talking about self care and family care. Every time we get on an aeroplane we are reminded to fit our on oxygen mask BEFORE we help others but I think we forget to do this in everyday life. Life gets ‘busy’ and we give to everyone else but ourselves. We need to STOP the glorification of busy and look after ourselves. When we make time for ourselves (with self care or me time) we have more to give others. Sometimes people don’t ...know where to start with self care so we will be talking about less than 10 minute ideas, longer ideas, low or no cost ideas and higher cost ideas. Please share below what your favourite self care activities are. One of mine is cross stitch. It was something I did as a child but I hadn’t done it for about 23 years. I started working on this ‘baby’s family tree’ design in October 2019 and it has travelled Australia with me! It has come on countless trips to Adelaide, SA, Melbourne, VIC for the Beautiful You nspiration day in November 19, Tickera, SA Dec 19, Parkes Elvis Festival, NSW Jan 20, Arno Bay, SA June 20, Clare Valley, SA June 20 and Riverland, SA July 20. I love the methodical process of cross stitching. It’s interesting to note, the busier I got building Be Simply Free, the more time I took to cross stitch. It allows my brain to rest and gives it space to think of wonderful ideas. (P.s the last picture is where I spilt port on the cross stitch! A wonderful permanent memory of cross stitching on the River Murray in Remark!) What are your favourite self care activities? Your comment might help someone else.

22.01.2022 Happy Boxing Day! I LOVE the day after Christmas! We will just be chilling at home, relaxing as a family AND eating a fridge full of leftovers! What does your fridge look like today? We hosted Christmas yesterday so this is our fridge. I love long stackable containers for storing left overs. I much prefer clear white containers as it’s easier to see through the lid and sides. Consider this when buying new containers. We mixed things up this year for Christmas dinner. We ...had a ‘pick your own adventure’ meal! We had peel your own prawns with lettuce & seafood sauce, homemade spring rolls, make your own teriyaki chicken cold rolls and chicken wings dings with blue cheese sauce. What did you have for Christmas lunch and dinner?

21.01.2022 It’s #FamilyFunTime. On the 24th of each month we do something fun as a family. It doesn’t matter is it is a weekday or weekend. It gives us something to look forward to each month. A lot of the time we do free things. Tonight it was cooking sausages and baked beans on the fire at the beach while the kids played and explored. Connecting with family is very important to me and is a module in my #444DeclutterCourse. 8 days until we start. Find out more here https://besimplyfree.com.au/444-online-course/. Will you be joining us? #FamilyTime #QualityTime #MakingMemories

19.01.2022 This is what I’m talking about! Many clients come to me to declutter their physical spaces but the beautiful thing is I take a holistic view and encourage them to declutter their mind too. A great place to start is your calendar. PLEASE craft space in your calendar for self care, me time, filling your tank - whatever you want to call it #JustStart! I love Tammy’s idea of 365 of daily self care.

19.01.2022 In November 2019 I made the #BucketList dream of being in the Adelaide @christmaspageant. By decluttering our home we have more time to #CollectMomentsNotThings.

19.01.2022 My simple strategy for back to school photos. The kids just hold this A4 piece of paper written on with a permanent marker. Done is better than perfection. In 2020, Miss 7 wanted to be a supermarket person and Mr 9 wanted to work at a sports car shop. In 2019, Miss 7 wanted to be a doctor and Mr 9 wanted to be a snake catcher. ... What did you want to be when you grew up?

19.01.2022 What are your favourite books? I don’t buy many but these are ones I’ve read that I love so much I bought them and I re-read them often! I’d love to hear yours!

19.01.2022 MOVE OVER MARIE KONDO, MY FAVE’S The Home Edit ARE COMING TO NETFLIX!!!!

18.01.2022 Something that is SUPER IMPORTANT to me in making time for self care/me time. I thought I was a ‘good mum’ when I gave to everyone else and left myself to last. That made me an empty shell of a person. Now I choose to wake up early so I MAKE time for me time every day. I started a complimentary instagram account called www.instagram.com/simplyfreeselfcare to show #365DaysOfMeTime. Follow for daily ideas. Many of the things I do are free and quick. Please find at least a mo...ment for yourself in the 1,440 minutes we all have in a day. What have you done for self care today?

17.01.2022 Thanks for the mention Women in Business Regional Network! I’ve loved connecting with fellow business owners at WiB Kadina and Clare events!

15.01.2022 It's our last day of the challenge I have absolutely adored sharing these tips with you and I hope you are seeing small changes in your home. In day 6 the final day of the 6 day circuit breaker declutter challenge I share: * What sentimental items our family keeps... * How we display and/or use what we love * What childhood and school memories I'm keeping for my children * How we shifted our focus to collect moments, not things

14.01.2022 Simple solutions still working a year later! I encourage clients to try and repurpose items they already have before buying something new. 14.01.2022 How is everyone’s Christmas to New Years What day is today week going? This is a pictural reflection of mine! Cross stitch, Netflix and Mr Farmer dying his hair black like Elvis!! #CollectMomentsNotThings

14.01.2022 I’m making a new acronym... Now I can just say While (WHYL) instead of Where have you looked? when the kids or husband ask me where something is before they have even looked for it!

12.01.2022 I used to spend so much time organising all our stuff. Then I learnt that there is less to clean and organise if we own less. A Harvard study showed that eliminating clutter could reduce housework by 40%!!!! Hands up if you want less housework!!

11.01.2022 Today I’m focusing on what is within my control. I can do my 5 every day habits of: 1 Me time (for inspiration jump over to my complimentary account @simplyfreeselfcare to see #365DaysOfMeTime) 2 Exercise (I love my early morning farm walk/run) 3 Make the bed (I’ve only been a bed maker for the last 2 years but it’s great to tick something off my to do list straight away in the mornings) 4 Drink the water (I aim for 2 litres)... 5 Kitchen clean up (I tidy the kitchen before I go to bed each night and 90% of the time before I go to work) What can you focus on today?

11.01.2022 Hi, I have a few new followers so I thought I would introduce myself again. I'm Bridget Johns (no, not Bridget Jones ) and I run Be Simply Free a professional organising business from our cereals and sheep farm at Alford on the Yorke Peninsula of South Australia. I am a Declutter Coach and Life Organiser. I help women reduce the physical and emotional "stuff" in their homes, phones, calendars and minds so they can move from stress to less and live a life of more! I do this ...through 1:1 coaching via Zoom over 3 months or once-off consulting sessions with people all over the World, in-home decluttering sessions on the Yorke Peninsula, Mid North & Adelaide, workshops and online group courses. I'm currently running #444DeclutterCourse & I can’t wait to offer it to more people (so send me DM if you want to go on the waitlist for the next course). If you are looking for support to declutter and organise your life, so you can move from stress to less and live a life of more, let's chat! Visit the www.besimplyfree.com.au to learn more. I’d love to know how you found me and this page. Please tell me below

11.01.2022 It's probably tea time or you've just finished tea. Hands up if you wish your food budget was less? #444DeclutterCourse has lots of tips starting in 5 days. https://besimplyfree.com.au/444-online-course/

11.01.2022 Thanks SA Woman Australia for having me as a guest blogger this month! We will go into this in more detail in #444DeclutterCourse which starts on Tuesday! I'll be your guide and cheerleader for 6 weeks as you gain the tools to declutter and organise your home.

10.01.2022 This is why I love to help people declutter BEFORE they organise. The key is to have less by decluttering, then to organise it in a practical system (not necessarily pretty) that the whole family understands. Then use the time you used to organise to enjoy life! ... If you want support to do this I’m only a message or email away. Let’s chat https://besimplyfree.com.au/services/coaching/

10.01.2022 Did you hear my chat with Lorraine Murphy on episode 60 of The Lorraine Murphy Show? We chatted about: Some of my storage hacks How I deal with laundry overwhelm... How to shift yourself out of clutter overwhelm Staying on track with decluttering How to organise our homes in a sustainable way I mentioned a few of the things I use that are hard to describe so here are the pictures: The clothes rack I use to hang my clothes straight from the washing machine The Hegs Pegs I use to hang the coat hangers on the washing line The little platter bowls I blutac down to hold our hair ties & clips in our bathroom drawer The whiskey glasses I repurposed in our bathroom vanity to hold our toothbrushes and my make up. Have you listened to our chat? You can find it here https://podcasts.apple.com//gsd-experts-how-/id1475733798 I hope that helps you visualise what I was talking about!

10.01.2022 It’s almost Christmas Eve. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions? For us we get a frozen drink from Maccas (yes getting that drink is part of the tradition! ) and drive around to see the Christmas lights. Others watch a Christmas movie. Pre-children we used to go out with friends for Christmas Eve drinks. What do you do? Christmas Eve is the 24th of the month which is also the day we celebrate our monthly Family Fun Time tradition which we have been doing for the last... two years. I got the idea from Leanne from @organisingthe4ofus. You pick a date in the month (We picked the 24th as it is our wedding anniversary) and do something fun with your family that day regardless if it is a weekday or weekend. It doesn’t have to be expensive, some months we just go to the beach for a family swim, have pancakes and ice cream for breakfast on a weekday or cooking tea over a fire. It’s always lovely to have something to look forward to, particularly on a weekday. Swipe right to see some of the examples we have done (note this page used to be called Farmer’s Wife Minimalist Life hence the references to that on the pictures) Simple. Fun. Effective. Relationship Building. Why don’t you extend the fun of some of your Christmas traditions to make them monthly or weekly family traditions?

10.01.2022 Always learning (every personality test confirms it! I’m a life long learner!) Thanks so much to Baker Marketing & Dee from eNVIsion Barossa-Yorke-Mid North to providing this opportunity. Are you currently studying or want to learn more about something ? I’d love to know below!

09.01.2022 Do you budget? I think it’s one of the most empowering things you can do. We will be talking about reducing your food budget in #444DeclutterCourse system module 2. Less than 3 days to register. Find all the details at https://besimplyfree.com.au/444-online-course/.

08.01.2022 BOXING DAY SALES TIPS: BE STRONG! 1 Make a list of what you NEED and stick to it. 2 If you wouldn’t have bought it for full price, it’s not a bargain at sale price. 3 You don’t need more stuff. 4 Focus on collecting moments not things.... Did you know the name Boxing Day comes from a time when the rich used to box up gifts to give to the poor? Instead of shopping, why don’t you spend the time you would have gone shopping (or scrolling online shops) decluttering a space in your home? I’m sure your kids have got lots of extra toys. Why don’t you spend 1% of your day (14.4 minutes) supporting them to declutter some of their toys? Send me some before and after pictures via Messeger for accountability and motivation! What room could you declutter today?

07.01.2022 Flip your mindset in #444DeclutterCourse What are your favourite sayings? https://besimplyfree.com.au/444-online-course/

Trying to budget so you have enough money to pay the bills and still save for a holiday? 06.01.2022 I’m a big fan of positive psychology & the power of gratitude & being grateful! Each morning I use The Start Today practice of writing down 5 things I’m grateful for & 10 dreams that I want to make happen in my notebook. Since I’ve started my own business, I take 30 mins -1 hour on Friday afternoon to send out a thank you card (I’ve always sent birthday cards to friends), write a podcast review or send a thank you email. It ends my working week on a high & focuses me to look for things to be grateful in my person & work life. What are you grateful for in your personal & professional life today?

06.01.2022 As January comes to an end, and you have had a month to look at your Christmas gifts, if you do not truly love a gift someone gave you, DON’T KEEP IT! Yep, it’s as simple as that! Sell it, donate it, give it to someone who might need it but DO NOT hold onto it and turn it into unneeded clutter at the back of some cupboard. This is also why I love experience gifts. You can give the gift of enjoying something without the extra clutter of physical stuff. Check out my blog art...icle in the comments below for some wonderful experience gift ideas. Have you kept some things purely because it was a gift even though you don’t even like it?

06.01.2022 Are you walking up to a clean kitchen? If not 'Yesterday you' was not looking out for 'Morning you'. Yes, it might hurt in the moment to take the time to tidy up, but 'Future you' will be so happy you did! Join me in #444DeclutterCourse to be your accountability buddy to make this mindset your new habit. ... https://besimplyfree.com.au/444-online-course/

06.01.2022 If you have beautiful keepsake memories, look after them! Have a good look through and edit it over time. Having a "space boundary" such as a box, helps you do continue to edit the keepsake contents over time. I love how Leslie Rowe Photography is sorting through her kids memory boxes and labelling them with Label Like A Boss labels (I use them in my pantry). When you see beautiful pictures of my spaces on my page, they were taken by the lovely Leslie

05.01.2022 I love happy mail! This weekend’s job is to write some Welcome to my #444DeclutterCourse thank you cards to post Monday. You can learn more and register for the course here https://besimplyfree.com.au/444-online-course/. I’ll be popping a tasty Tam's Sweet Cakery treat in there too! Thank you to Copy King for printing these cards for me this afternoon. It’s so lovely to be able to support two fellow Yorke Peninsula businesses. ... Please pop a shout out, tag & thank you to a local business you have visited recently. #GratitudeFriday #SprinkleKindnessLikeConfetti

05.01.2022 Whether you have a designated office or you use the kitchen table (like I did for many years), we all need a system for managing work and life paper clutter in our home. When I asked my Simplifiers community what spaces in their home they would like me to go into more detail in my 444 declutter course. The number one space was the office and managing paper and digital clutter. This may be exacerbated by COVID, with many people working from home. In my course I will talk thro...ugh systems to make your home/life documentation runs smoother. #444DeclutterCourse starts September 1st and over six weeks we will dive into 4 spaces, 4 systems and 4 self care strategies for your home and life. 04.01.2022 Reading is one of my favourite things to do (#BookWorm). In last night’s #444DeclutterCourse live call many women spoke about feeling overwhelmed, busy, tense, chaotic. These are a couple of books that are worth a look if you are feeling that way. Fair Play by Eve Rodsky Fair Play Life Chillprenuer by Denise Duffield-Thomas Drop the Ball by Tiffany Dufu... What are you reading (or listening to) at the moment? I’m always on the look out for new fiction and non-fiction books to read.

What are you going to action? If you missed the masterclass, send me a DM with your email address and I'll add you to our "Simplifiers" mailing list and send you a link to the recording and the free resources I shared. It's quite timely that Claire from White blank pages shared my career transition story ...on her website yesterday! I spoke about how I moved to the Yorke Peninsula after studying a food science degree, how I've studied multiple things (including an MBA) but ultimately I have come back to organising which was my keen passion and interest when I was younger. If you'd like to read the article I'll put the link in the comments. Have you changed careers?
