03.01.2022 ARE YOU SICK OF YOUR KIDS BEING GLUED TO SCREENS? 2 months ago I decided to introduce a day of no screens and settled on a Wednesday. You can imagine that it was not met with a lot of enthusiasm from my kids. 2 out of 3 announced I was officially the meanest Mum ever. ( must be doing my job right then ;) )... From the minute they walk in from school its tools down, me included (tougher than I thought it would be, I have to pop phone on silent so I am not lured back to it). It is now just a thing and everyone is ready and there is a different energy in our home once a week. The music comes on, we dance around the kitchen whilst cooking together. The kids have taken to baking on Wednesdays so a good day to pop in and say Hi. We have had a few game nights that have been fun and make me think we are on holiday somewhere. A few weeks ago, I set up a drawing table and we all sat and drew . Once we started we all got so involved in what we were creating that before we knew it 2.5 hours had gone by and we produced some great art. Last night we decided to clean out our junk room and got so involved that we moved on to our bedrooms. It has been a great introduction to our household and will remain a thing for as long as they are under my roof. DISCONNECT TO CONNECT Does anyone else do anything similar?
