12.01.2022 When you tell your kids their parents are separating, be prepared for them to have questions. They may not ask right away, but at some stage it's likely you'll need to guide them through what their future looks like moving forward. Questions to be prepared for include: Where will they live? Who with?... Who is moving out? Day to day changes? Where will they spend holidays? Will they still see their friends, grandparents or cousins? Can they still do their activities and go to their school? Answer their questions truthfully and in an age-appropriate way. They don't need to know all the details of what happened in the process it's enough for kids to understand that the separation means that their daily routine is going to change, including what will and won't change. If you don't have all the answers yet, that's okay. Be transparent and communicate that you're figuring it out and will let them know when you can. Encourage them to reach out to either parent if they want to talk at any time. Need further guidance? Book your free discovery call with the Bespoke team: https://bit.ly/359RGX7 See more
