16.01.2022 How often do you vary your workouts? If the answer is never... sticking to the same program or routine for months on end, stop now! Its time to make the most of your exercise time. Not just for body, but also for mind. ... Remember the quote, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over"... well. Not only this, but you will not progress with your results in the gym/physically. You may maintain, however when pushed, say in bending over to pick something up and feel a twinge in your back... which possibly could have been prevented in the gym, by varying movements, adding progressive overload, and working on the body as a whole, not just muscle groups... need I say more while trying to get to the point. 15.01.2022 Not feeling it? Are you finding it a little easy working out at home? Here's how to make it worth while and get results with limited equipment:... 1. Super set: 2 exercises one after the other, stopping to rest after the second is done. This can be an opposing muscle group eg. Quads and hamstrings Or opposing movements: push and pull Or opposite movement patterns or planes eg. Upper body and lower body or front to back, and side to side 2. Circuit: multiple exercises after each other with little or no break in between 3. Slow it down: time under tension, or tempo is longer eg. Tempo is 3.2.4 = 3 secs down in a squat, 2 sec pause at bottom, 4 slow seconds back up keeping good form as best you can. Breathe throughout the rep as instructed and think mind to muscle connection 4. 14.01.2022 Lets talk booty building. Firstly, it takes time. Secondly, if you've never had a perky peach before, you CAN! Consistency and persistence, like any muscle building or goal is key. Not sure you want to build your booty? Size a side, strong glutes= utilising the biggest muscle group in our bodies, which is notoriously lazy, particularly if you have a desk job; will help use your body affectively and function better = reduced risk to knee pain/injury & also lower back p...ain/injury!! I've dedicated almost 5 years to mine.. BUT my biggest growth has happened over the last 2 years. The moves you all have programmed like Squat, Lunges, glute bridge/hip thrust, and various booty band exercises are ALL important and play their role. You DO NOT need to be hip thrusting 200kgs to have a great booty! I built mine mostly with a band and a 20kg plate! (Particularly before I won last year as I wasn't aloud to lift heavy after surgery!) The key is: Train with glute activation atleast 2 to 3 times a week. Use a band to add resistance and help you feel the squeeze in your bum muscles. Feels uneven? Tell me!! We will work on making sure the weaker side gets stronger. And now this one is a hard one to swallow for some... you need to fuel your gains eg. Want booty, you need protein and carbs, and calories. Timed affectively and using quality ideally.. you will grow a smooth, perky and proud booty! Follow your program. Got questions please ask!!



10.01.2022 Day 3/25 I’ve been nominated by Monica Mais to do a 25 push-ups for 25 days challenge to hopefully raise awareness for PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), anxiety and depression that drive people to commit suicide. I nominate Hannah Cannard... The rules are simple: *Once you are nominated your 25 days starts the following day. *Everyday you record yourself doing 25 push-ups even if you have to drop to your knees to get 25 *Every day you must nominate a different person. Let's reach as many people as possible.Let's hope by doing this we can build awareness anyone who is suffering from a mental illness, you are not alone and we are here for you. Don't be afraid to speak out!!!.

09.01.2022 Gyms Re-opening!!! 1 Million Strong will open from 8th June (as the govt only just released today that stage 2 was brought forward by 2 weeks). As the limit is still only 20 people, I won't be starting training clients in the gym until limits increase to 50 people (guessing July).... Fortunately that means that you guys can book in for your own sessions (upto 3 x 1hour per person per week). You need to book. And to keep it fair for all members these are paid per session for now $5 ea. Head over to 1 Million Strong Smithfields pages. Any further updates you will hear from me, and those wanting to return to PT please put your interest in with me, as I will be keeping clients to a limit for the remainder of 2020, due to uni study, work and my own competition prep.
