22.01.2022 The NT Government has announced that it will: require stores like ours to physically separate liquor from groceries; limit our alcohol sales to 25% and restrict us from external advertising. They are not reducing accessibility to liquor in any other types of takeaway liquor outlets. They do not have evidence to suggest it will make any difference and are willing to implement these measures at the expense of family owned stores. And yet it appears they have not even applied existing laws to curb bad operators. These measures will be very expensive both to implement, and in the reduced value of these businesses. We urgently need your support in order to save our corner stores and supermarkets.
