02.01.2022 Hello Dance Friends and Family, 2020 really has been a box of chocolates in terms of not knowing what we would get and the last few weeks have been no different with renewed lock downs and more Covid-19 hot spots popping up every day. This has made the normally tough job of trying to bring an event together that people would want to be a part of even more tricky to pull off. From having to change the headline teachers to reformatting the event format, we were trying to be as ...flexible and creative as possible to actualise Best of the Best’s return to Sydney this year, but unfortunately we have no other option other than to cancel due to the current developments. We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for being so supportive throughout the whole process right to the end from the heart-warming phone calls, to the many supportive and kind worded emails expressing the commitment to support the event right to the end even with all of these changes. We cannot tell you how much all this support has meant to us. But as disappointing as it is to have to cancel, our first and foremost commitment is ensuring the well being of our community. We want to thank all the event staff that were going be part of the event in one capacity or the other (judges, DJs, teachers, MC, scorekeepers, etc) who throughout the whole process have been amazingly supportive and flexible. We really hope we can count on your support next year again. We also want to thank the other event directors for their support on the sidelines, it has been nice building friendships. There are a number of people we would especially like to acknowledge for their support and guidance: Anthony and Amanda, thank you for your friendship and always being there for bouncing 1001 ideas off of even in the middle of the night! Shane and Keri, thank you for having our back and for putting the gloves on to get in the ring with us, we truly can’t thank you enough for the support you have given us. Once again, thank you to everyone who had signed up to attend Best of the Best this year, we really appreciate your vote of confidence and we look forward to hosting Best of the Best 2021 and we cannot wait to see you there... Finally, we sincerely hope that no other event in Australia or New Zealand will have to be cancelled this year! So, if you are able to be there, please support the NZ Open in October, Simply Adelaide West Coast Swing 2020 Adelaide in November, and Swingtimate 2020 in December. In the meantime, please stay safe and always remain vigilant with your health!
