22.01.2022 What to expect at your AirFlow hygiene visit.... When using the AIRFLOW Prophylaxis Master device, our hygienist will firstly place a coloured dye onto your teeth to reveal any plaque and biofilm (the germ layer) present in your mouth. This helps highlight any areas in your mouth that require a little more cleaning while brushing your teeth. From here our hygienist will then efficiently remove the plaque build-up with AIRFLOW. This is a key step in preventing and treating g...ingivitis (gum disease) and periodontitis. As well as removing stains, AIRFLOW can be used for a number of different treatments, including: cleaning orthodontic brackets and dentures, and to reduce the loss of implants.

16.01.2022 Were committed to safety and quality at Best St Dental and were pleased to announce we are now a COVID Safe business. This means we have a COVID safe plan to help protect patients, staff and visitors to the practice. From the first moment you make contact with the practice our infection prevention and control (IPC) system swings into action.... You will be asked screening questions that are updated according to local risk when booking and you will be contacted prior to your appointment by our friendly reception team to check that it is safe for you to visit the practice. On arrival you will have your temperature checked and will be asked to use alcohol gel to sanitise your hands. We practice appropriate social distancing in the waiting room and staff areas and you can be assured we have plenty of masks, gloves, and hand sanitiser to minimise the risk of contamination. 14.01.2022 At the present time during the Coronavirus outbreak all dentists across the nation are restricted to emergency dental services only. This is to support social distancing measures the government has put in place, reduce the consumption of essential protection equipment such as masks and gloves and to minimise the attendance of patients at their GP or local hospital with dental emergencies. At this time we are able to provide ONLY EMERGENCY AND URGENT dental treatment. ... Emergency dental treatment is defined as 'situations that require immediate treatment.' This includes: - Uncontrolled bleeding - Facial swelling (particularly that which may compromise the airway) - Facial trauma (particularly that which may compromise the airway) Urgent dental treatment is defined as 'conditions that cause significant pain, infection or impact on patient health and well-being.' This includes: - Significant dental pain, usually affecting sleep - Localised infection (abscess, pericoronitis, acute apical infection) - Tooth fracture involving the pulp - Significant dental trauma (avulsion or luxation) - Medically necessary dental treatment (ie. prior to medical/surgical procedures) - Dental conditions that if left untreated for a significant period and may become a dental emergency in 4-6 months (extensive cavities that are currently causing pain) If you have an upcoming appointment our amazing team will be in touch with you, we appreciate your patience as we work through these one day at a time. We would like to thank all the patients that we have seen in recent weeks for being so accommodating to the changes we have made and the rescheduling of appointments. In the meantime we hope you all stay safe and well, and we look forward to seeing you once things are back to normal. From the Best St Dental team

13.01.2022 How much is too much? You might think that a little bit of sugar here and there isnt such a big deal, but the odds are, you are taking in far more than you realise. Figures show that the average Australian is consuming 14 teaspoons a day, a whole lot more than the maximum six teaspoons for an adult and four teaspoons for a child. ... The World Health Organisation recommends that adult sugar intake be equal to 5% of your daily total energy intake to decrease your risk of developing tooth decay as well as other health benefits. #dentalhealthweek #beststdental #waggadentist #oralhygiene #dentaltips #dentist #hygienist #oralhealththerapist #familydentist #childrensdentist #waggawagga

12.01.2022 Things are back to the new normal at Best St Dental. After several weeks of restrictions we are so pleased to be all together as one team and back doing what we all do best, which is looking after our patients old and new. We have a system in place to keep you safe which begins when you first make contact with us over the phone. We will be asking a series of screening questions to assess your risk of having been exposed to COVID-19 and we will ask you to hand gel at differe...nt touch points during your visit. We also continue to follow proactive high standards of infection control and instrument sterilisation. Your health and safety is what's important to us as well as your dental health. Its always been important if you have any problems with your teeth or gums to have them checked and addressed rather than leaving them to get worse. This remains the case now more than ever. Alot of the severe emergencies we saw during the lockdown were problems that could have been avoided if the issue had been treated at an earlier stage. We don't want you to get caught out and suffer unnecessary pain and anxiety. So don't delay, give us a call on 69215799, we are really looking forward to seeing you soon and continuing to take care of you and your family. We are also pleased to be taking bookings for new patients so if you have a friend or family member you think we can help please refer them to us.
