21.01.2022 Hello everyone, my name is Sapphire! It’s #WorldAnimalDay and BESydney’s Partner, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo is my home! I’m the baby of the pack; the latest addition to our Koala family. The name #Sapphire was carefully and unanimously selected by the Wild Life Zoo Sydney keepers to signify her importance to koalas and the Zoo. Sapphires are precious gemstones and our koalas too are particularly precious, especially given the threat to their population. Sapphire joins 11-month-...old Jasper and 12-month-old Ilani as the last of our koala joeys for 2020. She will spend the next four months cuddling up to mum Scarlet before finding her independence and roaming around freely on her own. Our Australian native animals are important part of our wonderful country. This World Animal Day, let's all fall in love with Sapphire, but also think of the unique role our Australian animals play in the ecology of Sydney, NSW and Australia, and how we can work to give them the best treatment possible. #ILoveSydney #LoveNSW #Sydney #WildLifeSydneyZoo #Animals #WorldAnimalDay2020

18.01.2022 Discover a contemporary re-imagining of Welcome to Country! When you're next in Barangaroo, head to the entrance of the Cutaway to view the commissioned piece, Wellama. Wellama Meaning ‘to come back’ in the Sydney indigenous language, Wellama is a 10 minute audio visual artwork, by Alison Page and Nik Lachajczak, in celebration of ritual, ceremony and story practised on Country since time immemorial. It welcomes visitors to Gadigal Country and pays respect to the Traditional... Custodians of this land. Alison Page comments that the Welcome to Country is an important cultural protocol, embodying Indigenous Australian's connection to homelands and the protocols that exist to maintain it. Indigenous people regard Country as a living, breathing entity; a member of the family to be cared for and nurtured. It recognises, celebrates and respects the responsibility that the Traditional Owners have in caring for that land, and acknowledges the people that come to it meaningfully through the welcome. 07.01.2022 Nothing says summer in Sydney like a street of jacaranda trees in full bloom. As if Sydney wasn’t already the prettiest city in Australia, once the warmer months hit we find ourselves living in nothing short of a magical, lavender-coloured wonderland. Jacarandas were first planted in Sydney in the 1850s, mostly around the harbourside suburbs and are beloved in our city. Between mid-October mid-November, as summer really kicks in, these beauties are ready and waiting, with a royal purple welcome mat for when our business visitors can return!

05.01.2022 It may have taken more than 60 years but the old Rozelle Tram Depot, which once housed 200 carriages, has a new life this time as a vibrant dining precinct featuring unique eateries from some of Sydney’s noted restaurateurs. BESydney Member Tramsheds is such an iconic venue, but also culinary delight! There are so many cafes and restaurants here for when you're in town for your next event, that you could spend the day just at Tramsheds, eating through your options! Head t...o Bodega 1904 to sample the culinary epiphany of head chef, Ivan Sanchez, or the experience the labour of love from farm to table at Butcher and the Farmer with a menu to feast on natures splendours. Osaka Trading Co. has all your bright, contemporary Japanese options to have you eating food similar to what you would find on a Japanese street but if Italian's your real love, then Flour Eggs Water Flour Eggs Water provides the trinity of the culinary world! Three simple ingredients and in the hands of these chefs, you will savour the flavours of not just the epicenter of a mean but an entire cuisine! Say bonjour to Garçon - a gorgeous place with a fancy for fine wine with French inspiration for a sense of joie de vivre or satisfy a sweet tooth at Gelato Messina with up to 40 flavours to enjoy. See what else you can find in the many more cafes and restaurants here when you visit to excite your taste buds! I warn you though, you'll want to come back again and again for more...
