You are doing well. ADAPTING TO COVID19 ... Covid19 will last a few months (if we all do the right thing). In the meantime, we see a massive shock to consumer buying behaviour and your business! Especially for quick service retail and dining environments. From a long term plant-based perspective, Covid19 will benefit the growth of plant-based. Especially in China and South East Asia. Even in Australia, sales of fruit and vegetables has risen sharply in the last few weeks. Let me approach COVID19 from a financial and business preservation aspect. The following information is for businesses impacted by the downturn. There are three major steps during Covid19, like any disruption. 1 - Preserve - leave no stone un-turned in looking at ALL aspects of the business. In early March, I wrote to my networks to speak to landlord and banks about freezing/deferring rents/repayments. 2 - Adapt - Unlike the tourism industry, if you have a popular product, your fans still want your product. They just need to access it in another way. 3 - Thrive - Covid19 will eventually pass. Those who adapt fast will have a number of revenue streams and grow their business even further. Two Points: There are only two type of vegan food businesses: 1 - The ones who were growing before interruption 2 - The ones who slowing down in sales before the interruption For the #2 - this is an incredible opportunity to review your business as a whole. 25.01.2022 Big jump in kiwi's switching to plant-based. So in NZ, @hellofreshnz conducted a survey to find a rising trend for vegetarian products. Interesting a lot of participants didn't know how to cook with vegetables and 45% the participants thought vegetarian meals were not as tasty. Really! Great opportunity here.... "For me, the most interesting parts of the survey showed the desire to eat more vegetables but a lack of knowledge about how to prepare them," she says. The data showed that, on average, Kiwis cooked dinner at home five times a week, with 30 per cent saying they cook more vegetarian meals now than in the previous year. In addition, 36 per cent wanted to increase their vegetarian cooking. "However, many Kiwis don't know how to get more veggie meals into their week," says Gilbert. "The survey showed 35 per cent don't know how to cook vegetarian meals and more than half (53 per cent) have no go-to vegetarian recipes to rely on."
