11.01.2022 Launceston has been confirmed as the host for the upcoming 2022 Australian Industrial Hemp Conference. The biennial conference will be held in March 2022 at Country Club Tasmania. A great win for the region with the potential to bring a great number of delegates from across the country to Launceston and the surrounding region. #BETasmania #businessevents #eventprofs
10.01.2022 While COVID has led to Tasmanian conferences and business events not being able to take place as scheduled, only 22.5% of scheduled events have cancelled. A small number are still scheduled to proceed in late 2020, but 64% have postponed to 2021 or 2022. This results in a really positive future outlook for our industry. https://www.cimbusinessevents.com.au/increased-confidence/ #Businessevents #BETasmania
06.01.2022 Last night the Federal Government announced a $50 million grant program to restart Australia’s business event sector. Under the Australian Business Events Grants Program, approved business events, including meetings conventions, incentives and exhibitions, will be able to apply for upfront grants to cover up to 50 per cent of their costs (between $10,000 and $250,000). The Business Events Council of Australia will now lead the industry’s work with Government on the design an...d implementation of the Australian Business Events Grants Program. Their goal is to get money flowing throughout the supply chain as soon as possible. The news is greatly welcomed by BET and this grant program, without doubt, will provide the confidence our industry needs to start planning and booking business events in Tasmania for 2021. It will also provide much needed hope to our struggling business events operators. Tasmania’s strong brand position coupled with low rates of COVID creates welcome opportunities within the business events market for 2021. Restrictions on international travel, and a reluctance to travel to major capital cities, makes Tasmania an appealing destination for the high yielding corporate incentive market that was traditionally outbound prior to the pandemic. Be assured that BET is working hard now to ensure that we capitalise on the opportunities presented and we will continue to communicate details of the grant program as they become available. https://betasmania.com.au//50m-business-event-funding-boo/ #businessevents #eventprofs #covid19recovery #BETasmania
