24.01.2022 Bethanga is one of many local and non-local brigades assisting in the fire effort in the Walwa and Corryong areas. One of our tankers has been on scene since yesterday afternoon and will remain there over the coming days. We are sending new crews in twice a day to relieve our members. A huge thanks to every volunteer and emergency services personnel involved in this fire and the other fires across the country.

24.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who worked hard on thier rain dances over the last few weeks! Remember to never drive through flood waters , stay safe .

23.01.2022 Come along next weekend to the CFA Family Fun Day at Talgarno!

22.01.2022 Fire restrictions will end at 1am tomorrow morning in CFA district 24, which includes all of our peninsula. Please remember to always be safe and responsible around fire.

20.01.2022 The over head fill pipe on cemetery lane Bethanga is currently offline for the next several days while the brigade completes repairs to the leaking tanks and faulty tap. We will keep you updated when it is back online. The Talgarno Gap rd standpipe is fully operational throughout this period. Apologies for any inconvenience.

19.01.2022 The Cemetery lane overhead fill point is back online for anyone to use. We have also completed the tap replacement to the CFA emergency reserve water tank and replaced the drop down tubes on the Cemetery Lane and Talgarno Gap overhead fill points. The new rubber pipe is approximately 700mm longer to make it easier for people to fill their water carts. The Cemetery lane tank repairs were 95% successful with some water still seeping. The cracks were a lot worse than origina...lly anticipated and will most likely need more work. There was a considerable amount of water leaking and pooling around the tanks. We would like to thank Flower Macklan (High St Wodonga) for their advice and generous discounts supplying the tap and associated pipework.

19.01.2022 "Always place phones and tablets on a safe surface when charging. Make sure you buy genuine chargers for your items."

18.01.2022 INFORMATION for Bethanga residents: The two water bore's are struggling to keep up with demand. The emergency CFA water tanks on Cemetery Lane are currently out of commission for the foreseeable future - we have a contingency plan in place for this. Please use water wisely.

18.01.2022 Our firefighters are currently responding to multiple fires in remote forested areas as a result of dry-lightning which continues to impact much of the north ea...st region. More fires are expected to be detected this evening and into tomorrow. Fire towers and aircraft will be operational early tomorrow to assist with the detection of new fires. Crews, supported by aircraft and machinery, are focussed on containing the fires as conditions moderate over the coming days. There are currently no communities at threat from these fires.
