14.01.2022 Queensland Health has issued an update (as of the 29th January 2020) advice in relation to the Novel Coronavirus outbreak in the city of Wuhan in the Hubei province in China. Further information is available on the Queensland Health website. There are two groups of people this update currently effects,... Travellers (adults or children) returning from visiting China, including Hong Kong and Anyone (adults or children) who has been in contact with anybody with a confirmed case of novel coronavirus. Queensland health as recommended that these people (both adults & children) must self-isolate for 14 days following exposure. Self-isolation means staying at home and not accepting visitors. This is a precautionary measure following new advice around the timeframe that people may be contagious before showing symptoms. As you can appreciate it is important for us to pass on this information on to our Hope community as this is an emergent issue for Queensland. For more detailed health-related information, please direct your queries to 13HEALTH (13 43 25 84).

10.01.2022 Hands of Hope is a project showcasing the deeply personal stories and challenges that can be faced by people with disabilities. It aims to raise awareness, acceptance and encourage creativity in people with disabilities. Disabilities represented include multiple sclerosis, genetic Huntington’s disease, stroke, diabetes, brain tumour, brain trauma, depression and epilepsy. Once a week 25 people with a variety of disabilities join the respite program at Nerang Community Respite... Care Assn Inc, winner of the LASAQ ‘Excellence in Care Organisation Award 2014’. For many, this is the only opportunity for much-needed social interaction. The works are engaging, clever, humourous, insightful and deeply moving. Please come and take look they will be on display until 26 October 2014. We are also thrilled to have work by esteemed Arts Project Australia artists, Matthew Clarke and Jodie Noble, on display as part of the 29th International Gold Coast Ceramic Art Award. Their works were selected from a competitive field of entries from all over the world. This impressive exhibition continues until 26 October 2014. You can view the online catalogue here. 03.01.2022 Hello to everyone in the Bethany Community, I trust that you are keeping well and safe as we all respond to the challenge of the Coronavirus. Our highest priority at Bethany is the health and wellbeing of our service users and staff.... As you are aware a lot has changed in a short period of time. I encourage you to continue practicing good hygiene by washing or sanitising your hands regularly, practicing social distancing and staying at home as much as possible to reduce the potential spread of the Coronavirus. 03.01.2022 Bethany would like to thank to Councillor Hermann Vorster and the Gold Coast City Council for their recent generous divisional donation. These funds have been put to good use, by purchasing vital equipment that will benefit both participants and staff. With their help we have have acquired a defibrillator and much needed first aid kits for our vehicles. Thanks again for helping Bethany improve our services. :)
