24.01.2022 FRI-YAY!! I know I haven’t been online for quite a while & updating so here I am... keeping you all informed. COVID is certainly still here making itself known to everyone. Unfortunately our industry has taken such a hit, if you actually sit back & think about how many lives/jobs/careers/businesses have been affected it’s scary. Travel is such a powerful happy industry & as you all know we’ve certainly had many disasters - natural, terrorism etc but nothing to this extent.... I know travel will come back but when is the question??? And I wish I had the answer. At this stage I have only bookings left for 2021- ocean & river cruises, the rest are all cancelled. For most of you now the refunds have come in but a lot of you are still waiting. As you can appreciate this is not only frustrating for yourselves but also us the agents, as we would love to give this back instantly however the funds are with airlines & suppliers. There systems aren’t built for the amount of refunds being processed so it will take time. And I appreciate your understanding. I saw this picture today & it just made me so happy.Just think about the last trip you were on, it doesn’t have to be a beach trip - any trip. Overseas! You had a memorable moment- it could be a funny moment, a pinch yourself moment, I can’t believe I’m here moment or the I don’t want to go home moment... we are so incredibly lucky to live in Australia with some of the best beaches, culture, food, and living environments. But our hearts all yearn for adventure! And when that is , who knows. But today take a moment and relive those amazing holiday experiences, and remember when travel does come back I will be here ready and waiting to arrange those moments for you again. 13.01.2022 At the moment Coronavirus is something on the forefront of the media and people’s minds when it comes to holidays.. I completely understand the worry, but I have received this today & made me really put it into perspective.. The airlines, wholesalers & cruise lines will NOT put there guests health and well-being at risk (let alone the staff who help run the businesses). It’s just a waiting game at the moment, which isn’t the nicest feeling.. but I hope the below details help... a little!!! Any questions, queries or concerns please feel free to contact me Coronavirus - why we shouldn't panic! -------------------------------------------------- Malta saw scenes of panic, right out of World War Z yesterday as people raided supermarkets in search of the final roll of toilet paper, and the last packet of Galletti. But I would like to take your time on this fine Thursday to bring to your attention, exactly what this virus represents in Numbers! After All, Numbers don’t lie. So, here it goes: 80,000 People are Sick with Coronavirus at the Moment of which 77,000 are in China. This means that if you are not from China than this should remove 96% of your worry. If you contract Coronavirus, this still is not a cause for alarm, because: 81% of the Cases are MILD 14% of the Cases are MODERATE and only 5% of the Cases are CRITICAL This means that if you do get the virus, you are most likely to recover from it. Some say, imma this is worse than SARS! The world is ending! THIS.IS.A.LIE. SARS had a fatality rate of 10% while COVID-19 has a fatality rate of 2%! Moreover, looking at the ages of those who are dying of this virus, the death rate for the people UNDER 50 years of age is only 0.2%! This means that the majority of people actually recover! This means that if you are under 50 years of age, and not living in China, you are more likely to win the lottery which is a 1 in 45,000,000 chance! NOW, Let’s take one of the worst days so far the 10th of February. Whilst we were enjoying our Public Holiday, 108 persons in CHINA died of Coronavirus. BUT, on the same day 26,283 people died of Cancer 24,641 people died of Heart Disease 4,300 people died of Diabetes and on that day, Suicide, unfortunately, took more lives than the virus did, by 28 times. Moreover, Mosquitoes kill 2,740 people every day, HUMANS kill 1,300 fellow humans every day and Snakes kill 137 people every day. One final thing which we would like to address is the Myth of the Mask. No, this is not the latest Indiana Jones instalment but a huge misconception. Basically, people who are not sick do not need to wear any mask. A mask is worn to contain germs, in case, those who are affected sneeze (which is the most common way of spreading the virus). The mask should be worn by those who feel that they might be sick. The mask carries germs on its outer part, and, if not changed frequently, then it might actually be one of the carrying vehicles of the germs.

08.01.2022 Good morning Everyone, WOW - How is it already March... Can you believe how quickly the time is going by!! I wanted to jump online and give everyone an update as to where we are currently at, and with COVID still being around where we are at with refunds etc. ... - Airlines: Airlines are 100% taking the longest for the refunds. With timing more around the 6+ month mark. For those where the refund was originally advised unavailable I have been working behind the scene to see if you are entitled to any refunds and continue doing this 1 per month. - Wholesalers/Hotels/Tour companies: Where a refund is required the wait times are still a long time however majority of you would have now received this. I only have about 4 bookings left which is great. Thankyou to everyone who has been waiting. I would like to express how thankful I am to all of my clients for being extremely patient with the waiting of the refunds. I completely understand your frustrations and if I could do anything to get the $$$ funds back quicker I would. I promise you that, it would save so much time. But unfortunately its just the waiting game and for that I am truly sorry. With regards to my work days, I am 100% accessible each and every day but I am now working a 2nd job. I am still checking my emails but not as often, as COVID19 has really had an impact. But if you are after me, I do always recommend a phone call/text 0418801771 to ensure I do get the information. 04.01.2022 Today marks a very sad day, Karen Jones Julia VanHuisstede & Mark have made the very tough decision to close our beautiful Maitland store and consolidate. I’ll never forget the phone call with Mark saying I’ve got the job with the school bell ringing & my teacher asking me to come into class (Mark & Karen actually didn’t have a specific job for me but decided to wait until I finished my hsc & employed me)... to my first time running up the mall, trying not to miss the bank c...lose time, meeting beautiful people- colleagues & clients who I would now consider family I am truly blessed to have a career in such a rewarding industry.
