Usually we think of grief as being related to the death of a loved one, but we can have a grief response to any loss - a job, a friendship or loss of our independence. It is certain that there are many people experiencing grief at the moment. It is not easy to go through grief and each person deals with it in their own way but everyone can benefit from sharing how they are feeling. 03.01.2022 In addition to weight loss, intermittent fasting can lead to other health benefits such as reducing chronic inflammation, risk of diabetes and resting heart rate and blood pressure. It is interesting that these benefits are not only due to the weight loss but there are also adaptive cellular responses between and within the organs. These cellular responses occur during the feeding hours as well as the fasting hours. For weight loss a fast of less than 12 hours has been found not to be as effective while a 16 hour fast combined with exercise enhanced the benefits of both the fasting and the exercise. Fasting may not be appropriate for children, pregnant or lactating women or those with some pre-existing conditions.
