25.01.2022 Beth’s Garden Delights will be at the Murrumbateman Village Markets this Saturday 13 Aug 16. We will have free tastings as usual and some new varieties of gourmet and specialty jams, jellies and marmalades, for discerning palates. Our long awaited Medlar Gold jelly will also be on sale as will Cherry & Brandy Jam and Tangelo & Vodka Marmalade to name a few. Our very popular gift packs are on sale this weekend for only at $20 per pack instead of $25 per pack. If you cannot make the Market this weekend you will be able to find us at the Jamison Plaza Shopping Centre (outside FSW) from Wednesday until Saturday and if you think you have seen all our varieties of products, think again, we will have our full selection on display for tasting and purchasing all 48 of them. 22.01.2022 Beth's Garden Delights will be at the Murrumbateman Village Market this coming Saturday 10 September. We have new packaging for our relishes and sauces, larger jars for relish and bottles for our sauces. Our long awaited Dessert Sauces will also be on sale this weekend come down and try our Medlar Dessert Sauce, Mulberry Dessert Sauce and Strawberry & Ginger Sauce. We do this to protect our product, image and ensure we are adequately covered for insurance purposes.

19.01.2022 My kid is done with homework. I just sent an email to her school letting her know she's all done. I said "drastically reduce" but I was trying to be polite beca...use she's finished. My 10-year-old loves learning. She independently reads 10-12 chapter books a year and regularly researches topics that interest her (right now she's writing a story about wolves). She takes coding classes, loves painting, and likes something called Roblox that I don't fully understand. But over the past four years I've noticed her getting more and more stressed when it comes to school. And by stressed I mean chest pains, waking up early, and dreading school in general. She's in school from 8:15am-4pm daily so someone please explain to me why she should have 2-3 hours of homework to do every night? How does homework until 6:30, then dinner, then an hour to relax (or finish the homework) before bed make any sense at all? Is family time not important? Is time spent just being a child relaxing at home not important? Or should she become some kind of junior workaholic at 10 years old? Did you know that in Finland homework is banned? And that they have the highest rate of college bound students in all of Europe? Children do not need hours of homework time to succeed yet we act like sitting at a kitchen table after a full day at school somehow makes sense. It does not. IT DOES NOT. IT. DOES. NOT. Children need downtime after school the same way adults need downtime after work. They need to play with their siblings. They need to bond with their parents in a relaxed atmosphere, not one where everyone is stressed about fractions because - SURPRISE- I'm not a teacher. Children need time to just enjoy their childhoods or is that just for the weekends (although we do homework on Sundays also). My kid is all done with homework. If the school wants to punish her for it, then I guess I'll have to figure out how to homeschool. I'm very nervous about it because although I work from home, I do work. I also have a 3-year-old who only goes to preschool two mornings a week. And a 7-year-old in second grade. I'll have to hire a tutor to help me and will need to find a group of parents doing the same thing, but I have no choice at this point. We all want our children to grow up and succeed in the world. While I believe in education, I don't believe for one second that academics should consume a child's life. I don't care if she goes to Harvard one day. I just want her to be intelligent, well-rounded, kind, inspired, charitable, spiritual and have balance in her life. I want her to be mentally and emotionally healthy. I want her to know that work is not life, it's part of life. Work will not fulfill you. It will not keep you warm- family, friends, community, giving back, and being a good person do that. I suppose I'll hear from her school tomorrow. We have some decisions to make. But going forward, this is a homework-free household and I don't care who knows it. My kid needs to be a kid.

I would like to take this oppertunity to thank our local community for their generocity in providing me with an abundance of fruit in the recent weeks and months. Just a few of the new products for sale and tastings this weekend will be: Peach Jam, Spicy Peach Chutney, Pear & Lime Jam, Onion & Pear Relish, Damson Plum Jam, Apricot Jam, Whisky Peach Sauce and Cherry Brandy Jam. 16.01.2022 Beth's Garden Delights will be at the Murrumbateman Village Market again this Saturday the 28 January. It has been a very busy few weeks with the new season jams. The plums have been in an abundance and the new plum jams are delicious, also strawberry jam and mulberry jam. The citrus have also been good this year and for those who like marmalade but do not like the peel, we have come up with a Lemon Jam, no peel what so ever, tastes great. Of courst will still have your favourites ie Tomato Relish, Zucchini Relish, Piccalilli and the very favourite at the moment Smokey BBQ Sauce. Also selling now are sauce bowls and spoons with our logo on, they make a great gifts. They can be purchased separately or in a gift pack. 15.01.2022 Hello everyone, Beth’s Garden Delights will once again be at the Murrumbateman Village Markets this coming Saturday the 11 June 2016. The mandarins have been gathered and we have some lovely Mandarin Marmalade for sale, and some (for those of us who like something different) Mandarin and Peach Marmalade. I would like to say a big thank you to our local folk who donated their Medlar fruit for me to process. You may not know what a Medlar is, well they are an Ancient Fruit tha...t grows really well in Murrumbateman, the fruit needs to start to de compose before it is useable, the finished product is fantastic, great colour and the flavour is a bit like dates, if you are interested in trying this lovely honey jelly ( we are calling it honey as it has the consistency of honey) we will have plenty for tasting at the Market.
