14.01.2022 Do you often hear that 'fragrance is the new cigarette smoke'? That fragrances are a dirty, dirty word and there is a large new wave of people reporting that they are impacted by smell. There are a range of reasons for this, but the biggest one is phthalates. A word I constantly have to check the spelling of. We are 100% phthalete free, particularly our fragrance oils, where we use them, are certified phthalete free. Here is a very simplistic article on why they are bad. We only use fragrance oil that is phthalate and nitro musk free, eliminating the two biggest irritants in most fragrances. 02.01.2022 At any given time we have Cold Process soap in three or four stages of production. As these need a minimum of four to six weeks to cure, we have to make sure that we have them backed up, so we make them and leave them in the moulds for a few days, then they move to being cut and once cut sit around for the curing time. Then we tidy them up, smooth off any rough edges and make them pretty. When they are firm and cured, they go into bags, get heat sealed and shrink wrapped and finally labelled. At the moment I get 26 bars out of each log of soap. Here are three we sealed and labelled today. Warm Tobacco, Cucumber and Ginger and Champagne and Strawberries.
