22.01.2022 Narrow Aisle, Selective Pallet Racking is basically standard Selective Pallet Racking with much smaller aisles between the rows. Due to the smaller aisles, more racking can be installed into a warehouse that conventional Selective Pallet Racking. Generally the aisles between the racking are around 2.0m wide and only wide enough to fit the lifting device. The most common lifting device for Narrow Aisle, Selective Pallet Racking is a Turret Truck or Stock Picker. These forklift...s generally run between L shaped steel angle, bolted to the floor, which keeps the lift truck running in a straight line. These trucks can also be wire guided where wiring is embedded into the floor and sensors installed on the lift truck. The sensors on the lift truck use the wire in the floor to guide the truck and the truck automatically steers to keep itself in a straight line. These types of lift trucks needed additional licensing to be operated as the operator normally lifts up with the truck and stays level with the items being picked from the rack. See more

20.01.2022 Drive In Pallet Racking is a type of pallet storage system. This type of pallet storage system is a very high density method of storing pallets. This system derives its name from the ability of the forklift to ‘Drive Into’ the racking system. The pallets stored within in this system are supported by the left and right hand sides of the pallet by pallet guide rails. There is no additional support under the main body of the pallet. Generally only strong, standard Australian sized pallets will work with this type of pallet storage system. Sub-standard or other sized pallet may either collapse or fall through the space in between the pallet guide rails.

A special double deep forklift is required to reach through the first row to access the second row behind it. At height, double deep guide rails are usually installed to assist the forklift driver in placing and retrieving pallets in the back row.

08.01.2022 A Pallet Rack Mezzanine uses a Selective Pallet Racking base to support a Mezzanine floor. The pallet racking base is extremely customisable and allows the supporting frames to be used as shelving. The ground level pallet racking frames and shelving were install in September 2008. The Mezzanine floor and upstairs shelving were installed in September 2014. The majority of upstairs components were second hand and reused from another Pallet Rack Mezzanine.

02.01.2022 Rivet Shelving is named due to the rivets on the shelving beams. The round rivets slot into the wide section of the keyhole on the upright post. The rivet then slides down into the narrow section of the keyhole, locking the shelving beam in place.
