18.01.2022 This morning we met with Parks Victoria at Cape Conran to talk about enhancing functionality at this popular Gippsland boating facility. Providing ocean access to great fishing, we know there’s room for improvement at this ramp and we’ll be working with boat ramp users and key stakeholders to progress options. We’re also working closely with Maritime Safety Victoria who are working on upgrading the camera to allow boaters to see conditions at Cape Conran ramp in real time via... the Boating Vic app. Cape Conran can be treacherous, so we’d encourage you to check the weather and the tidal conditions before you launch your boat at: https://www.boating.vic.gov.au/ramps/a157F000001P6UiQAK

That means it’s important you steer clear of big ships. Check out Victorian Ports tips how to stay safe here: https://go.vic.gov.au/HrcIac

11.01.2022 Hastings Boat Ramp Construction Update Construction continues to move at a rapid rate with the final boat ramp panel concrete pours taking place. Next week, accompanying works will be carried out to move towards completing the physical construction of the ramp. These works will include constructing the concrete edge kerbing, installing the central mountable kerbs, placing rock at the base of the ramp, and reinstating the asphalt at the top edge of the ramp.... Following the ramp construction, several on-site activities will then take place prior to the ramp re-opening. The large cofferdam (temporary formwork) will be disassembled and removed from site, with a new pontoon extension then lifted into place to connect the newly constructed ramp to the existing pontoon / jetty. A large crane, heavy machinery, materials and temporary site offices will then be removed from the area to provide access to the ramp. With the ramp construction and on-site activities progressing as quickly and safely as possible, the ramp is expected to be re-opened from mid-November. To stay up to date on the project, further updates will be provided via Mornington Peninsula Shire webpage: www.mornpen.vic.gov.au/hastingsboatramp

Parks Victoria are working to relocate the disability access hoist (currently between ramps 1 and 2) to the new pontoon to facilitate loading and unloading of people using wheelchairs into... vessels. Big shout out to Parks Vic for progressing these works.
