06.01.2022 Merbau #decking boards coated with Haymes Dexpress Deck & Timber stain (Natural colour) . Photo updates of our decking display coming soon... . . New hardwood decking boards must be weathered usually for 4-6 weeks to remove the top layers of tannin and extractives. In our case, we accelerated this process by using #Haymes Rapid Prep, a deck brush, lots of scrubbing and then a pressure wash . .... . Dexpress is applied with a lambswool applicator, an applicator pole (duh) and a brush for those sneaky edges. You can recoat within 2 hoursand simply wash up with water. . . We kind-of cheated a little and didn't coat the sides of the boards as these will be on an internal display deck in our showroom away from the weather.
