25.01.2022 Work / Life Balance has been an on and off topic for many years. I would say that most people agree that their life would be better if we could achieve this in some way. Is life really just about working and stressing to paying bill and taxes, with little time for all the fun things we would rather do? I know it feels like that for me sometimes. There is some light at the end of the tunnel for me and many others, without getting too complicated on this post.... Balance means something different for everyone because we all have different priorities, which is great news. Take something like working out to get fitter and healthier. With as little as 2 hours a week, it is possible for everyone to achieve some pretty awesome results. Mind you, it does depend on how you train/exercise that makes this possible. Thats why having a professional Trainer/coach makes it all worthwhile. They can save you many hours of non-productive workouts when the time we have is finite and pressious to us all, who wants to waste it doing something non-productive. I bloody dont. Now not all trainers are created equal just like any profession, we all have our strengths and weaknesses so take some time to find one thats right for you. All the best to your health. I have noticed over the years the most significant reason people do not reach their health and wellness goals. It all comes down to your MENTAL STATE or MINDSET.... No matter how you want to accomplish your goal if, you dont have the right mindset, you will most likely fail over and over again. You can blame it on money, time or any other excuse you can come up with. STOP using external factors as an excuse and trying to palm off your responsibility. No one really believes these excuses when they hear them. Just like a lot of other areas in society, we try and blame everyone and everything as the reason, just like kids. Grow up. If you trip over its your fault, watch where youre walking, dont blame the crack on the ground. If your sick and feel tired all the time, you only have yourself to blame. Find a way to sleep more and eat healthily. If youre overweight, unfit and feel weak, get off your ass and do something about it, any action you take towards fixing your issues no matter how small is ALWAYS better then doing nothing. 21.01.2022 Im very proud of the dedication my family clients show me. Here they are in the studio, with their kids as well, during Christmas season (one of the busiest times of the year). Even though they both work full time, long hours, and have 3 awesome very active boys, they still find a way to get some training in their busy week.... Why? Because they understand the need for their bodys to stay strong and active in order to keep up in this crazy world we all live in. The takeaway: You can tell yourself and others all the excuses in the world on why you dont look after your health, but in the end, it all comes down to you just not caring enough about yourself to want it. 18.01.2022 Who has tried exercise over diet to get weight loss results? I know I did at one point. If you like me, have ever tried exercising in order to lose weight but didnt really change your eating habits, you might have come to the conclusion that it just doesnt work out like you thought it would.... Exercise is amazing and can give you so many healthy benefits no matter what type you chose to do. When it come to fat/weight loss on the other hand, exercise falls short if it is left on its own. This is when healthy eating habits takes the lead role and if combined with exercise you can achieve any results you desire. Happy Monday :) Better Life PT Studio
17.01.2022 Its great to see people get motivated and try to change their lifestyle and habits for the good of their health and wellness. It always pumps me up. One problem that can arise is that we tend to get too motivated and try to change too many things at once. If you try to change too many things at once, you are more likely to fail than succeed.... Why not just try one thing and see if you can achieve at least 80% consistency. Do this for a week or two, if you feel like you can keep this new habit going smoothly then try adding another one and see if you can now do both 80% of the time for a couple of weeks. When you are successful with one habit, it will build confidence in yourself and in the process of changing your behaviour. Which always feels good. It doesnt matter what it is as long it helps you move forward in achieving your goal. 13.01.2022 When you are doing all the things you know are contributing to a healthy lifestyle, your body will feel great in many ways. There are too many words to describe what it feels like to really be living a healthy lifestyle. Most people probably think, "well I dont feel sick, so I must be healthy" lmao this notion is so far from reality.... Just because you dont feel sick or have any medical issues doesnt make you healthy. Being healthy is so much more than not being sick. The human body has many different needs that have to be met for it the be healthy. Even stress in the right doses makes for a healthy body and mind. If you are not currently doing any form of exercise, you probably will never be at your healthiest or know how good it makes you feel, and no, walking does not count. Ask yourself, are you currently happy with how your body feels and are you able to enjoy all the activities you want without restriction? If you answer no, how does that make you feel about yourself and are you going to do anything about it? All the best to you and your health. Better Life PT Studio

12.01.2022 Rising up to the challenges we give ourselves to achieve desires or goals we set, we might have to change some of our behaviours and or mindset (the way we think). Its hard to expect things to change when you are not willing to change to get it. In the health and fitness industry, Ive seen many people with motivation to say they want to lose weight, or get fit.... But sadly their words and feelings do not reflect with their actions to do so, and they fail and or give up on their goal. They can fool themselves by saying its just not meant to be blah blah blah, excuses for not really trying in the first place. If you really want to lose body fat, tone up, move better, live healthier, you need to change the way you think and then your actions to reflect that. It will not be easy, it will take some hard work and consistency over months to years. But after a while when the changes youve made become more natural and more frequent, your results will speak for themselves and that feeling of accomplishment when achieving something you persevered for so long on, will be well worth it. I know that changing your behaviour can be a daunting task to accomplish on your own. Where to start, and what changes to make that will give me the most significant return? Luckily there are many people out there with the education and experience to be able to direct you on the best path to take. Like us Better Life PT Studio Please remember, even though you found someone to help you, at most they can only give you the best tools and direction, YOU HAVE TO PUT THE EFFORT IN YOURSELF a coach cannot do it for you. 10.01.2022 Ive seen this happen all the time, and it is a powerful demotivator that has stopped many people for achieving their own goals. Your progress and results are yours and yours alone, as long as you are moving in the right direction, it doesnt matter how long it takes, the results you achieve or the way you did it. If everyone claims their an individual and theres no one in this world like them, then why do we compare ourselves to others when it comes to health and wellness j...ourneys? 10.01.2022 Poor Leo, he just got a hard dose of the weekend binge hangover. I feel for Leo, I know how much it can suck to work hard at something all week and then let it all go over the weekend, thinking that I deserved it for all my hard work. But then you do your regular Monday check-in and realise that it just wasnt worth it.... Dont let this minor setback get you down like Leo. Pick yourself up and try again and again until you dont feel the need for the weekend bender. For everyone who always keeps trying. I salute you, its not easy to continue working after you feel like you failed. 07.01.2022 Exercise and Healthy Eating, we all might know the reason people start. To lose weight and look good. But what is the reason people keep doing this over and over again for years? You might already know if you previously adopted this kind of lifestyle. It makes you feel good, or even better feel great.... Exercise alone has been shown with research and surveys that people generally start loving themselves and their bodys more. 05.01.2022 In this video, you will see Donald, James Ryan and Roger all performing the exercises that have been set out to them in their individual program. Don is just about to do some Suspended Biceps Curls, which are great for keeping the core tight and also changing the strength curve for the biceps. James is performing a temporary intermediate squat variation where a small portion of the weight is hanging off the bar. In doing this, it will help him dial in his tightness and hold ...high levels of tension, which reduces energy leaks, in preparation before going onto a heavy strength cycle. Roger is performing a beginner variation of the Roll Out. Roll Outs are great for teaching the body to hold core tension throughout the body while the hips are moving in and out of flexion. 01.01.2022 Using the cost of money and time for living a healthy lifestyle as an excuse not to seems pretty narrow-minded to me, lets have a quick look and compare the two. Healthy lifestyle - Gym membership Trainer - optional... Healthy food - Feeling great most of the time and hardly getting sick, delaying or even preventing most age-related diseases and illnesses, more energy, more likely to have a healthy mental state, being able to join in and participate in the most fun and exciting activities with friends and family, being able to move freely with little or no pain. VS Non-healthy lifestyle - Doctors fees Hospital fees - eventually Medication Absent from work Increased Insurance premiums Food - similar to healthy food or maybe more expensive. Increases to government taxes/levies to cover medical expenses for an unhealthy population. - Feeling average to shit most of the time and for longer, getting sick more frequently, early onset disease and illness with aging, side effects to medication, little to no energy, more likely to suffer from mental health conditions, missing out on a lot of fun and exciting activities with friends and family, living with pain nearly all day everyday.
