Today an unregistered preparer from Sydney received a criminal conviction for dishonestly obtaining a financial advantage. Charging a $100 fee, he used the personal myGov credentials of 1,098 individuals to lodge tax returns on their behalf, redirecting some of the refunds into his own bank account. 10.01.2022 When it comes to claiming your work related EXPENSES remember to ensure you are aware of the ATO’s three golden rules for claiming work-related expenses: you must have spent the money yourself and not have been reimbursed; it must be directly related to earning your income; and you must have a record to substantiate the claim. Even where record-keeping exceptions apply, taxpayers must still be able to show how they calculated the claim. https://www.intheblack.com/articl//07/02/tax-returns-2019
