It is the opposite of Responsible Tourism. Here the CEO of Responsible Travel discusses the various solutions currently in use.
23.01.2022 When traveling, it is so important to consider what is best for the local community, especially the local children. Too often tourism encourages unethical behaviour in order to please the tourist. This comprehensive guide by Intrepid outlines their policy and why. Its a great policy for every responsible traveler to be guided by.

15.01.2022 So happy to hear this! Better World Travel had previously stopped promoting Camp Jabulani due to its use of elephants for elephant riding, and had made this point known. It seems they listened to us as well as others who had voiced strong concern. Things are moving in the right direction! Remember, wherever you travel where elephants are, do not engage in Elephant Riding! No matter what you are told, it is impossible for this practice to be ethical. Avoid direct interaction a...lso. "By 1 April 2017, The Elephant Experience at Camp Jabulani will no longer include elephant rides. The increasing international pressure against elephant-back safaris, because of the abusive way in which a proportion of the animals are sadly trained, prompted this decision. Based on our approach to animal welfare issues, we are in agreement with the negative sentiments relevant to abusive methods of training" See more

10.01.2022 JUST BECAUSE IT IS AT AN AUSTRALIAN ZOO, DOES NOT MEAN THIS IS ANY DIFFERENT. It is embarrassing that we support this in our country. Change begins at home. Please sign the petition. For an elephant to perform actions it would not do in the wild, whether this be painting, or accepting a human onto its back etc, it must undergo a cruel breaking in process. Whether a baby elephant has been born in captivity or captured from the wild, its mind, body and spirit are first broken through a process called the phajaan. Meaning crushing, this ancient technique involves separating calves from their mothers a highly traumatic experience for these tightly-bonded animals before being tied down or squeezed into a small space, starved, dehydrated, and beaten repeatedly.
08.01.2022 "Travel, unlike anything else in life, has the beautiful ability to give you benefits you didnt expect. It doesnt just teach you what you dont know, it also teaches you what you dont know you dont know."

With a rhino killed every eight hours, more of these African icons are now being lost to poachers every year than are being born. This project is essential to their survival in the wild.
