I saw a challenge recently to share a picture of you when your mental health was at the worst, here's mine. Last November I was diagnosed with postnatal depression and anxiety (PNDA). This was the face most people in my life saw. PNDA can affect any mum, anywhere. It doesn't discriminate. I...t doesn't mean you're a bad mother, it doesn't mean you don't love your baby, and it isn't something you should be ashamed of. I had fantastic support from my GP, family, friends and the wonderful service of @gidgetfoundation and am doing 100 times better than I was. If you're struggling reach out. To me, to a friend, to your partner, to your community and health nurse, to your midwife, to your gp. There are so many services waiting to help. You might not know but under a GP healthcare plan everyone is entitled to 10 free psychology sessions in a calendar year thanks to #medicare I hope this post encourages you if you're struggling and can help open people's eyes to the reach of PNDA See more
