23.01.2022 Finally finished a pair for myself... It was a challenge to hand build the platform and the wedge, next time will be higher and easier. I will call them 'bettyjanes' by wade&ennis. It is time for some rebranding, bettybossyboots' will become my signature series. With an updated website, covering a lot more that I do. 14.01.2022 And there it was. The Art & Industry Festival - Industrial Fashion 2020. Filmed for an online event due to Covid19. We were allowed a small gathering last night to 'premier' the film, thanks to all the extra efforts of Donna Jackson and the team. Covid19, lockdown and my own health made everything 10 times as hard. Sadly I don't feel this is the best I could have done partly due to shut downs, limited pleating and other materials etc. Herewith are my costumes. 'Contained' is all about the shipping containers behind cyclone wire in our area. 'Oh So Pleated' was experimental pleating of leather by local Williamstown business Specialty Pleaters and how we need to support small industry that facilitates our art.#artandindustryfestival

04.01.2022 Quote from a talented maker I follow in the ever so turbulent and troubled US of A "I don't know whether this is a dream or a nightmare. I have every colour for creation one could desire at my fingertips, yet such little need for creation exists in the age of survival of the fittest". How sad is that?... I know what he means though, Covid and the economic downturn makes it hard enough to sell anything bespoke here in Australia let alone living and selling in the US!! Because I too have every colour and texture at my fingertips, I just might have me a bbb, post covid, pre Christmas, heavily discounted sale AND throw in two very special, discounted gift cards!!
