You have been judging, criticising and punishing yourself your entire life and teaching people how to disrespect you because you didn’t respect yourself. Trust that the hurtful words and actions of others were from lack of understanding and lack of authentic communication. Who you were and what you or they did in tumultuous times no longer matters when you rise up and discover who you really are. You make new choices. Smarter. Wiser. Stronger. Forgive yourself. Forgive everyone for we are all human beings doing the best we can with what we know until we know better
