25.01.2022 So behind on all our news! Here's some of today's fun -- ice painting. The kids have a very postmodern attitude to art though, so plastic hammers and water were featured heavily. #winter #painting #sensoryplay

25.01.2022 And just like that, it's Halloween! Again. #halloween #holidays

24.01.2022 More Van Gogh -- this time exploring Sunflowers.

23.01.2022 On the road again! It is so great to be able to take the kids out to explore our beautiful city's landmarks. Here are some pictures of our trips to the Botanic gardens and the Museum of South Australia. #excursions #SAmuseum #sabotanicgardens #outdoors #fieldtrips

23.01.2022 What a beautiful day for wand making! #natureplay #naturewands #spring

22.01.2022 Painting with nature materials (leaves, sticks, flowers, etc.) I think I was more excited than the kids. I think we also painted a couple of curious ants. #painting #natureplay #orangepark

22.01.2022 Ladybirds... Don't we love them! #ladybirds #insects #communitygarden

22.01.2022 Today we trialed an ambitious daycare cooking project -- rainbow banana pancakes! Turned out to be surprisingly easy and fun to make. And the best thing -- they were unanimously voted "yummy!". #cooking #kidsinthekitchen #pancakes

21.01.2022 Love is in the air! Happy St Valentine's Day!

21.01.2022 What do you do on a rainy day? We talked about Vincent Van Gogh and his Starry Night. The kids loved the swirls and the colours chosen by the artist and created their own masterpieces inspired by the famous work. The age of today's artists ranges between 2 and 4 and the materials used are foil and poster paints.#arts #painting

19.01.2022 Our new chalks are put to use

18.01.2022 More Ginger bread men! #cristmas #gingerbread #artsandcrafts

17.01.2022 You know spring is near when the flower soup is brewing in the mud kitchen, the ducks are back in the creek and the children grow tails.

16.01.2022 Five little ducks came back again, the Green Sheep is located, Old McDonald's farm is set up, the monkeys are swinging on the tree, mermaids are still swimming and the daycare has been back for two weeks now! Hope everyone had a great break! P.S. Check out my new wheels!

13.01.2022 Slime play... Last year the kids were not really into it, but this year it's definitely a hit. #slime #sensoryplay

13.01.2022 Run, run, run as fast as you can! You can't catch me, I am the Gingerbread man! If one day one of my kiddos grows up to be a famous baker/cake decorator, I will show them how it all started. #bakingwithkids #gingerbread #cristmas

13.01.2022 Introducing "Colours of the week", staring with green . #colours #green

12.01.2022 I was in two minds about getting the pallets for the outside space -- we are very limited when it comes to space and the pallets are so very big! They work, however! They look like they've always been there and the kids just utilise them in so many different ways. #outdoors #playarea

11.01.2022 When the bloom of the jacaranda trees is here, Christmas time is near! Exploring the colours and textures of jacaranda blossoms this week.

09.01.2022 If you haven't yet picked up those plastic Easter eggs while doing your essential shopping in Coles, Woolworths or Foodland, I urge you to do so ASAP. While I am not a fan of cheap bright coloured plastic rubbish, these little guys are invaluable, versatile and with a little help can turn into wonderful open ended resource. Here is what you can do with them to keep your little ones occupied. All activities are tried and tested -- see the photos. 1. Use them in the bath (or i...n a bucket of soapy water). Provide spoons and let the kids fish for them or fill them with foam. 2. Use an old egg carton and let the kids sort the eggs by colour. You can extend the game by asking the kids to only move the eggs using a spoon, thongs or other utensil provided. 3. Use them as a playdoh moulds and make playdoh eggs. 4. Fill the tray up with dried rice, lentils, etc and let the children scoop the rice. You can extend the game by making your own rice maracas -- just make sure you put sticky tape around the eggs so that they do not explode. 5. Have an egg and spoon race. 6. Paint them with washable paints and let the kids wash them. If you have more ideas, please share! Happy playing! See more

08.01.2022 If you of an Italian origin, please don't laugh -- daycare attempt at homemade pasta. Considering that we don't have a pasta machine, I think we did really well. The pasta looked like... Well, you tell me, but the kids verdict was: "Hey, that's actually not bad!" #cooking #pasta #kidsinthekitchen
