25.01.2022 Hi All, this amazing new friend of mine Lisa Hilliard is writing a book about her journey over the past year. I first met her a little over a year ago when I was asked to be the celebrant for her Dads Funeral (life celebration) service. We clicked, & Lisas husband was super impressed with the connection I had, not only with the family, but also their Dad. Then just a week to the day of her Dads funeral, Lisas husband passed at home & she flew me to Rockhampton to do LeRo...ys service. What this incredible lady has been through in the past year and a bit is mind blowing. She has been challenged on so many levels... emotionally, physically & much much more. She is such an incredible inspiration to me & I know her book will be filled with helpful tips, as she shares her personal story, in the hope of being able to help others to have the courage & strength to keep smiling & pushing through when life continues throwing challenges at you! 21.01.2022 Yesterday I had the honour & privilege of doing a memorial service (A Celebration if Life) for a beautiful family I’ve met & now become friends with, through doing funerals. Held at the football club where he played as a young teen, even one of his old coaches was there. There was laughter, tears, but most notable of all was the LOVE. Such a charismatic, cheeky, fun loving man, he touched so many lives on an incredibly deep level. His beautiful wife even granted his often spoken wish, of being at his own wake! Truly loved & forever remembered with a smile or a laugh

In fact it’s our uniqueness which sets us apart from others and is what people truly love & remember about us. It’s what makes you YOU & no one else. We each have a special role to play in this life & I want to remind you that you are amazing! 18.01.2022 The below quote represents to me the way a very special man lived his life. Although he didnt see himself as anything greater than ordinary, through the eyes of those he touched, shared wisdom with & loved, he was extraordinary! He inspired and gave hope to the down-trodden, was always there for those in need & personally defied odds many times over, in his life. I had the pleasure of meeting him a little over a week ago at his father-in-laws funeral, where he lit the cand...le and later sent a beautiful thank you message to me. Now unexpectedly a week later, his heartbroken wife has blown me away by asking me to conduct his funeral service in Rockhampton. At times in life we meet people who touch our hearts and souls on a truly deep level. This man touched so many, and now I have the honour of helping his family tell his story to touch and heal their souls. So incredibly grateful for such an opportunity. Sending much light & love to you LeRoy, and to your beautiful family. Ill do all I can to help them truly honour you, and their feelings about you too. Why not get a group of friends together, with a bottle of wine (or your preferred drink or food of choice), and get creative!

07.01.2022 When it comes to writing your own wedding vows, so long as you write whats in your heart, you really cant go wrong... Many people are afraid to write their own personal vows for fear of getting it wrong, but the way I see it is there are no rules when speaking from the heart. Ive even done weddings where one says their own vows & the other doesnt. Its completely up to you & your fiancé... dont worry about what your guests will think, because its your day. You wont ge...t to do it again, so if you really want to say something beautiful or quirky & funny to your bride/groom, then do it. The same goes for those who are too nervous to speak publicly, & in this case, we often have the asking instead (this is where I ask one or both of you if you promise to ... & then you get to say I Do!). Flexibility, having fun & making your ceremony heartfelt are the keys to a great & memorable wedding ceremony. Dont be afraid to ask your celebrant to add things to give your guests a giggle too, if thats your nature, or make it romantic if thats what you feel. Its up to you. 05.01.2022 Saturday's Wedding was so much fun... our gorgeous bridesmaids and ring bearers were none other than the couple's gorgeous fur-babies, and the wedding pinata was a 'hit' with everyone, young and old! Oh and instead of the usual signing book, people wrote their names on Jenga blocks :) How will you (or how did you) make your wedding unique and memorable??

If he/she was quite a homebody & loved being out in their garden, why not have a personal farewell to celebrate their life, in their own garden... the place they loved to be! Or maybe they loved the beach & the ocean (with council permission you could even hold a service there). When were suddenly faced with a tremendous loss, and then must quickly decide how best to honour that special loved one, its great to know there are options
