12.01.2022 This marvellous flowering fern was discovered recently in Royal National Park. Do ferns have flowers? What a silly question. By definition, ferns do not have flowers; rather they are non-flowering plants that reproduce by spores borne on their fronds. Yet a belief persists in parts of Europe of a ‘fabulous flowering fern’. 11.01.2022 Royal National Park is so fortunate to have so many beautiful places that are readily accessible and one of these is Winifred Falls only a short walk in from Warumbal Road. Be warned, it is a rather steep climb out though. What a great place to swim in the warmer months.

07.01.2022 PLANT THIEVES AT IT AGAIN. They do not muck around in Sutherland and at every opportunity there is something of value or beauty on display, some greedy person will covet it and steal. Our rainforest site has been hit by palm thieves and about 5 of our palms have been stolen. I think that I may have actually disturbed them on Monday when I found and replanted 3 palms I found in a pile. Today, I found more palms in a pile, and a hidden shovel under litter next to them that is now mine. All replanted but many other holes.

02.01.2022 Way to go. We have been doing this in Sutherland for many years now. So good to see this happening around the world.
