25.01.2022 Jim Buhr added to his growing trophy cabinet by winning the C grade Bexley Shield yesterday. Earlier this year Jim won the Cock O' Walk with Ken Baker in his first year of membership at the club. Peter Chiandotto secured his second win in as many weeks by taking out the B grade Bexley Shield. The Bexley Shield was sponsored by our auditors, Finncorp.

25.01.2022 The Saints came marching in today for the annual footy shirt day. Other teams and codes were represented but it was the dragon army who won bragging rites for 2020.

24.01.2022 Dulwich Hill Football Club have launched their season at Bexley Golf Club with their traditional golf day. After an early morning start, the players sat down to lunch with a talk from former Socceroo, Ante Covic, before unveiling the senior team for 2021.

While some suggested it was the result of not knowing where the hole was, due to the absence of pins currently, Garry insists he knew the position from Wednesdays competition.

23.01.2022 The ladies foursomes championship concluded today with Lydia Moles and Vicki Costello claiming the trophy. Margaret Beattie and Noelene Walsh secured runner up prize while Susan Peel and Erihi Reihanna won the two round nett competition.

22.01.2022 Wayne Matthews and Chris De La Mare completed the Bexley Double Crown today by clinching the Foursomes Championship to go with their Fourball Championship victory earlier in the year. The win stretches their unbeaten run in this event to five years. They didn't have it all their own way, needing to overcome Joel Dodds and Glen Davis in a playoff. George Longbottom and Doug Street won the A reserve, Stuart Maurice and Gary Costello claimed the B grade and Bill West and Adrian Perkins took out the C grade. Many thanks to Nick Moraitis of LJ Hooker Newtown for sponsorship of the event. Nick paid tribute to his fellow member and father, Peter, as the inspiration for being involved with the club and continuing to sponsor the event.

22.01.2022 Even when the fog lifted today it wasn't clear who was going to take out the 4BBB championship. Ultimately it was the duo of Chris De La Mare and Wayne Matthews who prevailed in a playoff over Gavin Heffernan and Matt Henley. The 18th hole tee shot by Chris to within two feet to set up the win is shot that will be long remembered by the gallery on hand and etched in annals of Bexley golfing history. 21.01.2022 After today's 2nd round, Lydia Moles, has one hand on the ladies club championship trophy, while Noelene Walsh leads the field in the division 2 championship. Next week's final round will confirm the best ladies' golfers for 2020.

21.01.2022 The final round leaders didn't falter today as Lydia Moles took out the Ladies Club championship while Nolene Walsh claimed the division 2 championship. It is the second time Lydia will have her name etched in the trophy after previously winning in 2015.

19.01.2022 Construction of the new championship tee on the 3rd hole has begun. With the assistance of member Gerry Lee, several trees were removed to provide the space, and sunlight, for the new teeing ground to thrive. The tee will soon be turfed with the aim of it being ready for play by the Bexley Cup in October.

17.01.2022 Despite the weather, golfers still came out to participate in our popular Wednesday competition. Allan Pollock and Graham Mayhew had 47 points in the 4BBB while John Martyn and Doug Street took out the scratch. Best of the individual scores was John Martyn with 39 while Aaron Flood led a host of players on 38.

17.01.2022 The club farewelled our long serving mechanic, Tony Catton, today. Captain, Matt Hill, was on hand to make a presentation to Tony and pass on the club's thanks for the contribution he has made to the club over his 25 years of service.

13.01.2022 The ladies completed their 2020 calendar with the annual Christmas ambrose. The winning team of Joan Murphy, Barbara Hawkes and Annie Ng brought home the bacon and now have a Christmas ham for their efforts. Other major trophies were finalised as was the celebrations for Fay McGreal's birthday.

13.01.2022 David Sykes booked his place at Presentation Night with victory in the Mens Singles Handicap Matchplay Championship today. He was one down on the turn before catching fire the second nine ultimately prevailing 3&1 over Michael Olsen.

12.01.2022 When the pressure moments came it was the duo of Ken Baker and Jim Buhr that held their nerve in today's final of the Cock O the Walk. Trailing 1 down playing the last, with opponent Steve Dean sizing up a realistic birdie opportunity, the 28 handicapped Buhr chipped to within 3 feet to make par. When Steve Dean left his birdie chance agonisingly short the trophy would be decided by playoff. With no shots to be given on the 1st playoff hole, the lower handicapped team of Dean and Keith Lewis looked hot favourites to etch their names on the trophy. Ken Baker poured cold water on their hopes when he calmly made the green in regulation and two putted for par while Dean and Lewis made bogeys.

12.01.2022 The contenders came out swinging today as the ladies club championship entered its first round. After playing in glorious sunshine, Lydia Moles leads the field, followed by Susan McKay, with Sylvia Song holding down third position.

12.01.2022 Glamour and golf mixed at our Melbourne Cup golf and luncheon today. Taking out the golf were Gavin Heffernan, Spiro Terkalas, Peter Paps and Alex Samaras. Runners Up were Susan McKay, Roy Alexander, Karina Black and Nick Hassapis. Taking our the lady's glamour event was Taylor McGrath while Peter Paps notched a first by taking out the men's fashion on the fields.

06.01.2022 Shane Fitzpatrick joined an elite group of players after taking out the Bexley Cup for the second year running. The Massey Park member became the first back to back winner of the Bexley Cup since Kevin Day in the early 90s. Shane's score of 64 was two shots better than Bruce Russell, Andrew Borg and previous winner Gary Glenday. Todd Churchill claimed the nett prize with a score of 57.

The trophy will again take pride of place in the house of Peter Aroney after he claimed the trophy for the second year running. Gavin's speech was following his win of the scratch event with Alex Knittl taking home the individual handicap honours while Matt North and Maurice Savoldi claimed the 2 ball aggregate.

01.01.2022 The Alan Bock Memorial Day was played in idyllic conditions today. Peter Chiandotto was ultimately too good for the 130 strong field to claim this year's title. Annie Ng secured her second win of the week by winning the ladies competition.

01.01.2022 Maybe it was the luck of the Irish as Padraic Hayes was the first name drawn in our Win a Membership promotion. The competition was open to all social players who played at Bexley Golf Club over the last few months. Padraic's name was drawn by President, Nick Hassapis, after Club Professional, Kyle Francis, had gathered the entries of hundreds of players over this period.
