14.01.2022 Young babies develop their fine motor skills by touching, reaching, grasping, holding, shaking, twisting and pushing objects. Parents should try to provide a range of toys that vary in size, colour, sound and texture. Activities to enhance fine motor skills for children aged 12-18 months include simple puzzles, hand actions to familiar songs, building with blocks, messy food play, hiding under a blanket, using a spoon, pointing to pictures in books, removing socks, scribbling with a crayon and water play.

05.01.2022 Beyond Limits Paediatric Therapy has sponsored its first child from Rwanda, Africa. This is Patience and she is 6 years old. We will be providing monthly sponsorship in order to provide her family with the opportunity to develop spiritually, socio-emotionally, physically and economically. Our staff will be sending regular letters in order to build a relationship with Patience. Worldwide, 385 million children live in extreme poverty. Poverty robs children of their basic right...s to learn, play and grow. In its ugliest form, poverty can lead to exploitation, child labour and even death. If you would like to sponsor a child and change a life you can visit Compassion Australia. https://www.compassion.com.au

01.01.2022 The Joy Of Moving There is a clear connection between brain development and movement. Movement impact cognition, memory, sequencing, emotional regulation and planning. The Pyramid of Learning by William & Schellenberger highlights how closely the central nervous system is linked to the sensory systems (tactile, vestibular, proprioception, olfactory, visual, auditory and gustatory). Sensorimotor development and integration is critical for higher level skills such as academi...c learning. According to Dr. Ron Minson the brain develops through movement, and it doesn’t stop developing as long as we keep moving! Enjoy the joy of movement today!
