25.01.2022 I went for a run today OUTSIDE! The 1st time in forever!!. I have been using the treadmill more lately and geeze it felt good to feel the sunshine But with all this happy endorphins there was a feeling of a niggle in my knee. NOW what Im about to say is extremely important...... Listen to your body!!!! It can prevent an injury,... Yep, so my right foot was over-pronating. On the treadmill this is easy for me to correct, or even feel, with less impact but out side on he gravel and pavement...not so much Now you would think with my history of long distance marathon running, I would be very aware of my gaite (running stlye/stride) Nope, not today. So listening to your body by simply acknowledging movement with what works for you. This isnt just for workouts overall but for life in general/work etc. Every movement we do that is repetition can niggle on the body in one way or another, by the muscle firing patterns and with smaller muscles taking on the "load." Having a RMT looking into the bigger pitucre by testing and assessing with specific muscle release techniques more then just a rub down to feel good, helps tremendously. I want you actively living at your best. Not on the train ride to injuries See more

25.01.2022 To hit the HIP FLEXORS - Psoas Major and Lliacus. Its such a common area to be worked on because so many factors come into play with tight hip flexors. It can make it harder to walk, bend, and stand. They can also lead to back pain and muscle spasms in your lower back, hips, and thighs. Very tight hip flexors can tear when you exercise or make a sudden move. ... Sitting for long periods of time shorten these muscles. So a good stretch and strengthing exercise can help if your experiencing any of the above symptoms. 1. Hindu squat into stretch. Adding side to side hip mobility movements for a dynamic stretch. Learning you chest forward can aid into a deeper stretch. 2. Try hip flexor hurdles for strengthing. Putting your back up against the wall limits the amount of compensation of leaning backwards. 3. Using a kettlebell is a good shape to slide into the hip and add pressure for self release. Sit the pressure on for approx 60-90secs. You can slowly raise the knee into flexion, then the hip into internal rotation, then glide down straight onto neutral as a myofascial release. Each set of these should decrease in sensitivity. Let me Know how you go See more

24.01.2022 SCAP WORK Ever wondered about the Rotator Ruff? Theres two main muscles Im focusing on here. ... Infraspinatus Teres Minor They are two of the four roctor cuff muscles. Both externally rotates and teres min adducts the arm. Repeated abduction (arm going up to the side) and flexion (over head movmemts) can lead to wear and tear, causing injury or rapture of this cuff. NOW... I am working on a machine here!!! Whom is very tight and knotted in this area from ALL that lifting Notice us both laughing at one point..... thats because its the only way to get through that release Oh and obviously this vid is compressed from 5mins to 1min because watching me work is like watching a Trampoline - Shaed, Zayn See more

21.01.2022 Happy because this is what I personally need to work on To HIT Gluteus Medius - The primary jobs of this glute is to extend, abduct, and internally rotate the hips. Also very important for stabilizing the pelvis. If youre walking, running, side lunging, or even just standing on one leg, the gluteus medius is working to keep your hips and pelvis stable. If this muscle isnt doing its job properly you may need to do these exercises to help. ... The problem for most people isnt necessarily a weak gluteus medius, but rather an inactive one. Without a properly functioning glute med, other areas of the body have to pick up the slack, resulting in pain and dysfunction. Lets get this muscle firing so for example, your lower back or knees dont get sore. This is just one simple exercise I often reccomened. Clamshells with resistance band: Lie on your left side with your legs stacked and your hips and knees bent 45 degrees. Rest your head on your arm, and place your other palm on the floor in front of your chest. This is the starting position. Keeping your heels together, your core engaged, and left knee on the ground, raise your right knee. Pause, and then return to the starting position. Do equal reps on both sides. I have added a progession with lifting the leg from the hip. Let me know how you go See more

21.01.2022 Should we work on our wrists mobility today? WHAT DOES THIS DO?... This one warms up the wrist joints and stretches the forearms, hands, fingers & wrist joint by creating space in the joint. This is a great one before workouts because it preps the wrist for the load. BENEFITS Doing this promotes circulation in the wrist joint & forearms and can help reduce pain, stiffness or discomfort in the wrist, especially when loading the wrist (i.e. holding a heavy bag or weights, or doing pushups, handstands etc.). You got this! THIS IS MY FAVE WRIST STRETCH! And yes I have hypermobile elbows and wrists, thanks for the confirmation @dralexsportschiro See more

21.01.2022 2020 I'm not going to go into detail about this year because I think we all have felt the impact within this massive year. And it has been a really bloody tough time. I want to take this opportunity to personally say thankyou to you! Thankyou from the bottom of my heart for your incredible support. 2020 has been a wirl-wind from starting this year by moving into Revivify with my 1st month of January being so quiet, I was beginning to panic... till now....fully booked everyd...ay, with an amazing crew (you!) I have so much gradtitude. You make me turning up to work each day worth it. I clearly love what I do. I have ticked off a few goals I've set for myself to achieve this year and the main number one was to add dry needling to my tool box. and it has been a game changer and I love it. Personally I have had massive change this year and growth within myself and my family and we are shining bright as ever! I do want you to be the first to know I have taken on a full time role next year and have been given an opportunity within the business which I feel very humbled by and will accept a mentoring role on top of RMT practicing. This has only become possible because of you, my clients! Exciting times ahead! Can not wait to share more and see you all again next year. Bring on 2021!!!! Big positive changes coming, watch this space

21.01.2022 C U P S - because muscles move in all directions! Curious about cupping? This specialised cupping can be added into your sessions for no extra cost. Just ask at your next appointment. Its a really effective way to loosen every thing up

20.01.2022 This is something that's hardly ever talked about Here we are chatting Let's be real! Sunday arvo was a bizzare way to end @gethubbed Tarsha from the amazing @theotplace and I were working at @rfx_summer_showdown Crossfit competition on the weekend and she so kindly shared with me an assessment of the hip flexors and diaphragm. When demonstrating the release, Tarsha said: "with this trigger point, the body can have an emotional response"... WOW...now this sat with me f...or awhile and took me back to when I was studying RMT and when my coach said, and I quote: "the issue is in the tissue" meaning...... An emotional response! With soft tissue therapy, sometimes if your having a hard time emotionally your muscles know this. It's like they have a brain of there own and they tense up. And when a muscle is realised, so can the emotions with it. This is normal! I've had clients tear up mid treatment and become upset because there is alot going on in there personal life. You may feel overwhelmed with joy or even anger. If this happens or has happened to you, just know this is normal. And I'm always here for you! Our sessions are confidential! I've always got your back physically and emotionally! I actually care about you and your feelings. Yes musculoskeletal soft tissue can feel sore. It's those tight muscles that need releasing. Remembering, physical pain is temporarily and trust me, you will feel so much better after! Hopefully you are feeling safe and well of day 2 lock down xx

19.01.2022 Shoulder Pain? Did you know that, soft tissue therapy can help reduce shoulder pain If your feeling stiffness with lifting your arms above your head. Pain in the shoulder joint, impingement, tears or inflammation. Using manual therapy of deep tissue, trigger point therapy, with added tools of fascia cups, dry needling and heat stone therapy can help reduce the pain and increase your well-being so you can go back to your daily activities with ease ... @s.o.s_designs

(Yep I am a country girl) Walked out the front, down the end of my street, crossed the road and there it is! This place I spent hours as a kid exploring and just spending my time here. Riding my bike, climbing or walking the dog. Getting back to nature! I loved it! ... Now that Im living coastal, I do take to the beach and sand for grounding but for me nothing feels like home like the dry heat and the glisserimg gum trees. I feel calm and at peace with nature. I love hiking, exploring and climbing. I didnt realise how much untill I left my home town. I love to know, what is your happy place for grounding? goldfields photography See more

12.01.2022 YAY!!! - Good news A simple neck stretching routine may be all you need to relieve or prevent neck pain. Stretching the neck can help decrease those areas of tension and stiffness. If these muscles get chronically tight, it can lead to headaches, poor posture and that in itself can lead to more underlying issues. Or you slept wrong and cant move the neck very well? These muscles are the sternocleidomastoid, (thats a mouth full so lets say SC...M for sort) the anterior scalenes and the upper trapezius. There should be no pain when you perform these neck stretch exercises. 1. Upper Trap Stretch. Draw your head back, lining your ears up with your shoulders. Place one hand behind your back or hold a chair in sitting position and place your other hand on your head and gently stretch your head away from the arm that is placed to the opposite ear. Hold: 30 Seconds x3 and repeat other side. 2. SCM & Scalenes: hold the sterum down while putting your head into rotation and or extention You will feel a awesome stretch right in the front of the neck. Hold : 30 seconds x3 and repeat the other side. Let me know how you go See more

Do you have sore feet, a stand up job all day or have foot conditions such as planter fasciitis were it hurts as soon as you take the 1st step out of bed Rolling you feet out with a spike ball before you stand up in the morning or after rest can help reduce pain or discomfort to stetch out all that tight band of connective tissue. 1. 10.01.2022 FAQ I often get asked When do I fit in a massage with my training schedule? My answer would be: After training that is before your rest day! If you can.... "ideally" - train first, then have a massage, then next day is full REST day This is because.. YES a remedial massage is apart of recovery, but Im going to work deep into the muscle layers and you will need to give it day too.... so this means you have a complete entire rest day to repair FYI: the more massages you have, the better nutrition you have, the better the recovery from massage DOMS (delayed onset muscle sorness) you will be

10.01.2022 Monday thoughts

10.01.2022 Hows the shoulders? Particularly your rotator cuff? The 4 muscles are ... Supraspinatus - This holds your humerus in place and keeps your upper arm stable. And helps lift your arm. Infraspinatus - This is the main muscle that lets you rotate and extend your shoulder. Teres Minor - This is the smallest rotator cuff muscle. Its main job is to assist with rotation of the arm away from the body. Subscapularis - This holds your upper arm bone to your shoulder blade and helps you rotate your arm, hold it straight out and lower it. A decrease of internal rotation can cause issues with pain in the front and back of the shoulder. So all that repetitive arm out in front of you and across the body movement. To stretch it out Reach behind your back with your other hand and grip the towel. Gently pull the towel up and allow your hand behind your back to move across and up your back. A gentle stretch should be felt in the front or side of your shoulder. Let me know how you go Ps. I apologise for the bad lighting See more

09.01.2022 To hit the Sartorius muscle! I like to think this muscle is named after me because my last name is Sartori So the Sartorius is the longest muscle in the lower body, but saying that, its not the strongest. This muscle wraps from the inside knee to the outside hip and if overused it can cause medial knee and hip pain and becomes extremely tight. ... Give these stretches a go to help relieve tightness and pain. Make sure your hands are underneath your shoulders and the spine is neutral with knees below the hips. Bring the legs out and stay here and breathe for three to five breaths. Inhale and slowly move your right and left knee out towards the side as you exhale, stopping to hold and continue breathing whenever you feel the stretch. Let me know how you go See more

06.01.2022 New vid Notice the part when the shoulder scapular is mobilised. I'm killing 2 birds in one stone by placing pressure on the pec minor and rolling the scap backwards. These mob's help glide the shoulders up overhead with ease without any clicks and cluncks. Releasing the surrounding muscles helps with any restrictions in this movement or just tight or experiencing shoulder pain. Also my elbow at the start is sitting on sore knots. I encourage deep breathing, swearing is also acceptable Looking for Me - Diplo and Paul Woolford

05.01.2022 - - Every now and then I still have someone surprised of my strong pressure. Someone once said to me "your strong for a small girl" haha... I dont think I am strong, but I do know my intuition with knowledge finds the tender spots. I am very sensory and if you catch me with my eyes closed while in treatment its my hands guiding me through the stick of the muscle tissue. I am very selective with pressure depending on what your wanting to achieve from yo...ur treatment. In a remedial session; pressure should feel ideally a 7 out of 10 (10 being excruciating) so its at that good sore feeling. Sitting on a trigger point; it needs to subside to a 2 or 1 before I lift off. So communication is key. Not every area of the body is going to feel a 7/10, only the targeted muscles that are causing you discomfort or pain or the pain with movement. I still have some appointments left this week. You can book via www.revivifyclinic.com.au See you on the table See more
