25.01.2022 This is #FoyerGoals. Stable housing, education and support give young people the opportunity to realise their passions, and give back to their community. Amazing Brea, thanks for being an inspiration to other Foyer students and the Shepparton community.
25.01.2022 We need your help! With Victoria's Big Housing Build funding announcement, we're gearing up to construct more across the region for those people who are without a safe, affordable home of their own. We have local builders ready and future tenants waiting, but there is one thing we need more of - affordable LAND! Right now its hard to find, so we are asking you to keep your &open and get in touch with us if you know of suitable land available or about to become available. Message us via this page or email us at [email protected] #affordableland #socialhousing
24.01.2022 Crush it, Shepparton. Test and quarantine. You can do it. - Brett Sutton (Victoria CHO). Well, #Shepparton you have all done an incredible job and shown you are a community that cares doing the right thing, getting tested. Don’t know about you, but we could not feel prouder. We've been doing our bit to ensure our community was kept safe, including checking and connecting with clients and tenants to make sure they can access testing sites, and have an adequate supply of health protections like masks and hand sanitiser. See Matt Sharp - GV Health Chief Executive update for Shepparton outbreak - importantly two additional locations of concern (as of yesterday).

20.01.2022 Why is Anti-Poverty Week important and what needs to be done? Anti-Poverty Week supports the Australian community to have an increased understanding of poverty and to collectively take action to end it. Our key message is: Poverty exists. Poverty hurts us all. We can all do something about it. It is one of hope, not despair. You can do your bit by: Helping ensure all Australians have a home - visit https://everybodyshome.com.au/. ... 16.01.2022 For Community Safety Month and Anti-Poverty Week our CEO Celia Adams answered some questions about who we are and what we do, about affordable housing + community housing and housing stress, and what happens when you seek our help. Thanks Greater Shepparton City Council for the opportunity. Something else you want to know? Message Greater Shepparton or comment in their post.
12.01.2022 #NAIDOCWeek is a significant week celebrating the ever enduring cultures of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples. We're proud to celebrate the First Nations people of Australia. We acknowledge the Wiradjuri, Yorta Yorta, Waveroo, Jaitmatang, Taungurong, Bangerang, Ngurai Illam Wurrung and Dhudhuroa peoples and cultures as the traditional custodians of the lands and waters upon which we rely. Always Was, Always Will Be. #NAIDOC2020
11.01.2022 The US election might be dominating discussion right now, but the voting we are keeping an eye on is in the Council to Homeless Persons Victorian Homelessness Media Awards. Regional journalists Josiah Shala and Charmayne Allison are both nominated in the Best Suburban/Regional Journalist category for their stories on people experiencing homelessness in our catchment. https://chp.org.au/vhma-2020-finalists-best-suburban-regio/ Homelessness is a diverse and complex issue. Congratulations to the finalists and thank you for your respectful portrayal of people experiencing homelessness. #VHMA2020
07.01.2022 "I can sit outside, I have a backyard of my own. Here, I can go and catch a bus and go wherever...I’m actually free for the first time in eight years." What Jennifer has endured in these past few years would challenge many of us, but Jennifer has shown incredible resilience. Her experiences demonstrate the impact that safe, secure and affordable can have on people's lives - restoring dignity, safety, autonomy and providing opportunity.
