07.01.2022 What a journey it has been for Rhyan Grant. Born in Canowindra and earned a scholarship in the AIS Program despite not fitting into the age criteria for the 20...08 program. Joined Sydney FC three months later as a 17-year-old. Made his senior Sydney FC debut in December, 2008. Represented Australia at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2009. Scored his first Sydney FC goal in August, 2010. Ruptured his ACL in his right knee during a match in October, 2013. Had a breakout season in 2016/17 and scored the equalising goal in the Grand Final as Sydney FC defeated Melbourne Victory. Ruptured his ACL in his left knee in July, 2017. Made his come back and earned his Socceroos debut against Lebanon in November, 2018. Marked 10 years with Sydney FC in December, 2018, becoming just the third Hyundai A-League player to spend a decade at one club. Scored Sydney FC’s third penalty in the shootout to win the Hyundai A-League 2019 Grand Final. Only Socceroo to play in every match in 2019. Scored the winning goal in the Hyundai A-League 2020 Grand Final and won the Joe Marston medal for best on ground. 190 Hyundai A-League Games. 3 x Premiers’ Plates. 3 x Championships. 3 x PFA Team of the Season. 2020 Joe Marston Medal.
