25.01.2022 BACK TO STRONG Lower Body Strength | Progression 2 Week 1 the strength program was designed to blow out the cobwebs and give our coaches a chance to see how everyone was moving post-lockdown. ... With members form looking on point this week we progressed by reducing the rep range and increasing the weight. Members we're squating, lunging, hinging and dominating Can't wait for weeks 3-5 to really see the squad getting that strength back.

20.01.2022 Meet Coach Sam Sam is one of our new brigade here at BFT Surrey Hills. He is a fantastic coach and very knowledgeable on all things resistance training We sat down to find out a little bit more about the Sam the Man. What motivated you to become a trainer?... My dad did bodybuilding in India and I naturally followed in his foot steps, I grew up loving the gym because I spent the majority of my childhood emulating my dad. I had competed in various fitness comps but it wasn't until 4 years ago that I decided to change my passion to my profession. They say do what you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life, I feel blessed! Outside of BFT what do you do for fun? I love cooking, I was fortunate enough to have my own cooking & lifestyle show on C31 this year I love spending time with my family. If you were and emoji, what would you be? Interesting Fact About You? I'm an actor in my spare time as well as a fitness model. Some of my recent work has been for Woolworths, Officeworks, Myki, Priceline and a couple of bit parts in TV shows. It keeps me fit, creative and busy! What Are Your Life long Goals? (We Got Deep) Apart from being fit, healthy and happy I dream of travelling the world and inspiring others to live the life that they deserve. Your Favourite Quote? 16.01.2022 MEMBER RECOGNITION As we return to the gym this week, we can't help but notice the tip top condition some of our members are in coming out of lockdown. The combination of BFT2U and an 8WC has really motivated members to be a better, stronger version of themselves despite the outside circumstances not being ideal.... And this is a true testament to each and every individual. That when you put your mind to a goal, anything is possible. Here we have Rae. A married mum who had her second child and was determined to get back to living a healthy lifestyle in 2020. We touched base with Rae today and wanted to share her experiences with the wider community. Q: What made you want to do the challenge, especially in lockdown? A: "I had my second child in mid January this year and had gained quite a bit of weight this pregnancy. We went into the first lockdown just as I was due to return back to training at studio. Whilst I have been training during lockdown and have shed some of the weight, I seemed to have plateaued and could not shift the last few kilos to get me back into my pre-pregnancy state. I wanted to do the challenge to help get my nutrition back on track. The best part, I managed to convince hubby to do it with me." Q: What's been the hardest thing you've experienced along the way so far? A: "At times it has been hard to motivate myself to train but once I got going it was fine. Having the weekly check ins with @jeremyscott.93 has also kept me accountable, so thanks Jeremy!" Q: What have you learnt about yourself since you've begun? A: "Having the right mindset is important and that anything is possible when you put your mind to it." Q: What are your planning to do to keep on track for the next few weeks? A: "Continue to focus on my goals" We are super proud of Rae and wish her and the other challengers all the best for the next few weeks as the last 8WC of 2020 comes to an end. Get it crew!!!
15.01.2022 Goodbye Nathan! Our studio manager Nathan is sadly finishing up at the end of this week - so be sure to say goodbye this week! Nathan has been offered a job that was too good to turn down in the northern suburbs. Nathan wanted us to include this message as part of this post I have absolutely loved my time here at Surrey Hills, the facility and most importantly the members & staff are all amazing. From the early mornings groups, to the evenings, it has been a pleasure to train with such a positive, energetic group of people. I will miss you all - Nathan

14.01.2022 Class Capacity In response to the eased restrictions, Monday's class capacity has now been increased to 15. Wooooo!!... Monday will operate as per the usual timetable. The rest of the week's timetable is still to be confirmed and therefore remains unchanged. Once we confirm all the exact changes, we will adjust the rest of the week. See you all tomorrow
13.01.2022 A tasty upper body Strength session is on the menu for today and with a new movement added to the BFT exercise library, the Single Arm Press with Rotation. Training with unilateral movements gives you an idea of muscular imbalances, identifying stronger sides of your body and highlighting where you need to slow down and focus on strengthening areas to address those particular imbalances. Starting your kettlebells in a front rack position, you’ll quickly find that when you pre...ss and rotate to one side, your core is being challenged with instability as the opposing heel leaves the ground, forcing your core to stabilise and engage. Some great holiday exercise includes: Walking Jogging Swimming Yoga Dancing (after a few evening ) It doesn't have to be much, 20-30 minutes is great!
