06.01.2022 FROM OUR INBOX | A new electronic border pass system came into effect Monday 10th Nov at 2pm. For agricultural businesses and workers, these new changes will ensure faster assessment and provision of border passes by: * Prioritising ‘S’ (essential activity) and ‘Z’ (CHO exemption) pass applications * Extending the validity of passes from 7 to 14 days, reducing the number of times you need to apply * Streamlining processing at border checkpoints and strengthening compliance ef...forts. It’s important to plan your entry to Queensland early. Please apply for a border pass at least 3 business days before you plan to travel. NEW when making an application, you’ll be requested to upload supporting documents which may include evidence of your identity, address, employment and travel documents, if applicable. If you’ve not received an outcome on your application within 3 business days, you should contact 13 74 68. There are no changes to the freight and logistic border pass at this stage. Find out more about border restrictions for agribusiness, food manufacturing and commercial fishing workers. What border pass do I need? Here are the different pass types: * G pass if you haven’t been in a COVID-19 hotspot in the last 14 days, you can apply for a general border pass (G pass). * S pass for specialist or essential workers and pickers, packers, sorters and meat processors who have been to a COVID-19 hotspot in the last 14 days. Before applying for a specialist or essential worker border pass (S pass), you must first apply for and receive an endorsement as a specialist or essential worker. Please allow a minimum of 7 working days for this application, followed by at least 3 business days for the border pass application. The person is only permitted to enter Queensland to perform the stated essential activity. * Z pass applies to an agribusiness worker from NSW or Queensland who has been in a COVID-19 hotspot in the last 14 days, and been granted a Chief Health Officer exemption to enter Queensland. There is no condition to quarantine, but there is a requirement to isolate from the community and to maintain close records of close contact. * F pass applies to workers who provide essential commercial transport and logistics services to through or from Queensland. Learn more about the Queensland border declaration passes HERE: https://bit.ly/3loEjIl
