25.01.2022 BIG NEWS: BGS Old Boy Fraser McReight ’16 has been selected to debut in the Wallabies team taking on the All Blacks on Saturday night. The 21-year-old will start from the bench in the must-win Bledisloe Cup match. Congratulations and good luck.

25.01.2022 BGS Music successfully hosted its Sing & Swing concert at the Roma Street Parklands amphitheatre yesterday. The COVID Safe plan was comprehensive and ensured an enjoyable and safe performance experience for our boys, parents and many grandparents. Congratulations to everyone involved.

25.01.2022 A registration form for Term 3 & 4 sports and activities, including an overview of the plan for GPS competition in the COVID-19 environment, has now been shared with all students. Students may access the form via the 'Register (Term 3 & 4)' tab in the Co-curricular Activities channel in Teams. The form will close at 3pm on Thursday 14 May. Once registration selections are collated, we will work with the GPS Association to help build competitions. If we are unable to accommoda...te all registered interests, alternative Co-Curricular involvements will be offered through a second registration round. 23.01.2022 BGS Year 12 Art students showcased their thought-provoking artwork in their annual Art Exhibition today. Various techniques were used in their installations to express this year’s theme, Art as Knowledge. Well done to the boys for creating an exceptional exhibition that was enjoyed by staff and students.

23.01.2022 Auditions are now open for the Years 9 & 10 Junior Dramatic Production of WAR OF THE WORLDS: CYBORG EDITION. Set over the course of 10 years, this fast-paced fragmented story is the last-known record of Humankind. WOTW:CE will be a 30 minute single-issue podcast; an audio horror-book meets high-octane theatrical experiment where the performance is professionally recorded, the show is downloadable and the audience is online.

16.01.2022 BGS Old Boy Fraser McReight ’16 will make his starting debut for the Queensland Reds in tonight’s Super Rugby AU match against the NSW Waratahs at Suncorp Stadium. He has played off the bench for the Reds three times and led the Junior Wallabies to runner-up in the Under 20 World Cup in Argentina last year. Good luck.

15.01.2022 10 IN A ROW: Congratulations to BGS Gymnastics who won the GPS Championships for the 10th straight year. The event showcased plenty of brilliant athletic performances and a high level of respect and sportsmanship by all schools. BGS won all three divisions to win the Jim Young Cup. 12.01.2022 BIG NEWS: Three BGS Old Boys will play for the North Queensland Cowboys in the NRL today. Daejarn Asi has been selected to make his first grade debut, joining Tom Gilbert and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow. Kick-off is at 4.05pm. The three BGS boarders played in the same side for the light dark blue in 2017.

Now studying for his Psychology PhD at QUT, he’s researching the elite level in a totally different field Esports the fastest-growing sport in the world. 07.01.2022 THE CHEETAH: Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow will become the second BGS Old Boy to debut in the NRL for the North Queensland Cowboys in a week. He joins Tom Gilbert in the Cowboys team to play the Warriors tonight. Hamiso will play on the wing and he’s tipped to become the fastest man in the competition.

06.01.2022 Well done to our Cross Country runners who competed at the GPS Championships this week. Congratulations to Harry Chapman who won the Open division by an incredible 40 seconds and Archie Boorer who won the 12 Years division. BGS won the Open division with six runners placing in the top 17 of the event.

05.01.2022 The Great Public Schools Association of Queensland Track and Field Championships this Friday (23 October), at Queensland State Athletics Center Main Stadium, will be live-streamed. The competition kicks off with the All Age 400m Hurdles and concludes with the flagship 4 x 100m Open Relay at 3.25pm. All the action from the track will be available to watch through clutch.tv.... In the best interest of the health and wellbeing of students, staff, and communities, and aligned with current Government restrictions the 2020 GPS Track and Field Championships will be closed to spectators. 04.01.2022 David Lush concludes his time as BGS Director of Swim Coaching today. Lushy has been part of the BGS community for almost 12 years, establishing and taking the BGS Swimming Club to one of Australia’s top ranked swimming clubs. The BGS Swimming GPS program has finished first or second for the past six years, with two GPS Championships in 2017 and 2018.

03.01.2022 Congratulations to the BGS First VIII for winning the GPS Rowing Head of the River on Saturday. The win capped off an undefeated season for our premier team. Well done to the coaches and parents involved in the program for their incredible support.

03.01.2022 GRAMMAR ROBOTICS: BGS and BGGS had a successful day at the First Technology Challenge national competition on Saturday. Teams were interviewed by judges and presented their engineering notebooks detailing the design process leading up to the finals. Between matches, teams made minor modifications, tightened components and readjusted their game plan to try to maximise points. It was fantastic to have the Girls Grammar team sharing the playing field, with both schools showing incredible support towards each other. The attached photos show last week's Robotics sessions at BGS.

03.01.2022 GPS Cross Country Key Information Results Tracking Live results will be provided by the GPS http://results.sportseventservices.com.au/live.aspx Attendance Restrictions ... Given the restrictions around social gatherings in place in Queensland, the GPS Association has decided that there are to be no parent or student spectators at the event. In fact, we are not even allowed to take reserve runners. Only the 12 runners per age group (18 for Opens) who will compete are allowed to attend the event. Further, to reduce the number of competitors at the venue at any given time, the meet will be run as three sub-carnivals. Boys will depart BGS by bus, travel to Limestone Park, compete, and then return to BGS by bus at the times below. See more
