24.01.2022 Bangladesh High Commission, Canberra celebrated the 49th anniversary of the Victory Day of Bangladesh on 16 December 2020 with members of Bangladesh community in Canberra.



20.01.2022 Government of Bangladesh has launched ’Ek Desh’ the first online crowdfunding platform in Bangladesh. This platform aims to bring together individual donors and social and non-profit organizations together with the government for efficient management of relief funds operated by the government as well as other charitable organizations. The Prime Minister’s Emergency Relief Fund for Covid-19, Islamic Foundation, BRAC, Bidyanondo Foundation, Center for Zakat Management, CRP a...nd Sajeda Foundation are included in the said platform. Funds intended for the purpose of food assistance, medical assistance, cash assistance etc. can be donated to the organization of choice using this platform both from home and abroad. 20.01.2022 Dr. Faiz Ahmed Khan, a valiant freedom fighter, a reputed scientist from Bangladesh and a well-respected member of the Bangladesh community in Brisbane expired yesterday. Inna lillahe wa inna ilaihe rajeun. I pray to the Almighty Allah to grant the deceased a place in the Jannat. At the untimely and sad demise of Dr. Khan, I express sincere condolences to the bereaved family and pray that they have the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. 07.01.2022 Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra observed Ekushey and organized the Probhat Fery around Manuka Oval that ended at the temporary Shaheed Minar. Australian dignitaries and Bangladesh community members passionately attended the Probhat Fery at the cusp of dawn. In the evening, a discussion session was held on the significance of International Mother Language Day. The discussion session was followed by a colorful cultural program with patriotic songs and recitation of poems that enthralled the audience. Thanks.

01.01.2022 Bangladesh High Commission Canberra, inaugurated yesterday ( 08 September 2020) a week long photo exhibition on the life and legacy of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Huw Davies Gallery, Manuka Arts Centre, Canberra, Australia. The exhibition will remain open to visitors every day from 10 am to 4 pm until next Sunday, 13 September 2020. The program was attended by 100 guests including more than twenty Ambassadors/ High Commissioners, Leader ...of the opposition of ACT Legislative Assembly, Senior representatives of Australian Federal Departments, members of diplomatic corps, leaders of Bangabandhu study circles and Australia Awami League, diaspora members and High Commission officials. The exhibition displays more than eighty-five photographs of Bangabandhu capturing Sheikh Mujib’s childhood and family life, his emergence as the undisputed leader of the Bangalee nation, final phase of the struggle towards independence, and Bangabandhu’s engagement with world leaders and at the international arena.
